If we were to land a transfer from another school I’m assuming that talk wouldn’t start until after the season’s over…correct?
I would think so unless the player had already announced he was transferring after the fall semester.

I think its great that we are talking about guys being patient for playing time. We’ve read too many comments over the years about how “so and so would have to sit on the bench somewhere else but could come here and play right away”.
Still, its probably to our advantage that recruits see how Major gives so many players plenty of time.
Darn, and here I was hoping for “sweet emotion” or “walk this way”. 
Any competent shooting guard can come here and play a lot.
We also don’t have but 1 schollie opening up for 2014 with Mayfield’s departure. We have depth at this point so now we have to be wise with the picks. If we are not wise then we will be in desperation mode again in 2015 when Henry and the boys are graduating.

Good point. Ok so besides Lester we have three open. Lets say we hold one over for 2014. Then we have two open schollies left. I still think we have to use at least one on a freshman. If we hold one for a transfer I would understand.

Being in sales all my life, if the coaches can't sale a great shooting 2 guard on the virtues of signing with us, I'm totally dumbfounded. This isn't Kennasaw St. or Stonybrook. With the pieces we have now a kid would be crazy not to consider us. Please someone tell me where I'm wrong.Local kids want ACC, just a way of life. If Lester had the grades, he’d be there too. This is not a new situation for Charlotte.
I think we have two spots open for next year, so I hope we are looking at a scoring guard and an inside person. Major’s group does not put out the info on who we are recruiting like it was when Lutz was around. Hopefully, we will hit gold again in the spring.
Since we already have an off guard starting next year, I doubt we’re looking too hard at wings.
I mean, we have Ingram, Henry, TWill, Lester, Mayfield, EVN and Benkovic. Front court needs more help, we only have Clark, Clayton and Thorne.

Out of that bunch I only trust Ingram from outside and he’s a bit small. We’re only a 2 guard or 3 forward shooter away from being scary good !!!
Nickerson and Benkovic have both proven they can hit the 3, regardless of whether you trust them or not. And, I don’t know where an additional 2 guard would get minutes. We’re not losing any perimeter players from this team and we’re adding one.

I haven’t followed these players in this type of situation very much. It happened to Rodney White when I was in school there and I know he made the grades and got to play the next season. My question is, when will we know for sure Lester has done what is necessary? After the Spring semester? How often do kids in his situation not make the cut after given that year to do so?
I guess I’m not so excited about Lester when there is no guarantee he’ll do what he needs to do to qualify.
