ASU to Conduct Football Feasibility Study

I’m not sure that’s possible. There is a campus group studying “game day” issues and one member had been to a college game elsewhere and said the smoke from all the grill was unhealthy. She didn’t think grilling should be allowed except in a far away spot so folks wouldn’t walk through it.

Folks, there are so many obstacles on this campus to get anything done, it’s worse than an abandoned mine field. I’m not in the least optimistic.

Smoke from grills? This isn’t a MaryKay party, it’s football!!!

Where’s that ban smoking thread when you need it so I can say “I told you so”? Recently read where the mayor of NY is going to try to ban smoking in any outdoor city park. Bank of America Stadium got rid of the designated smoking areas this year.

Per any given saturday, the Assistant AD was on the radio (in Charlotte FWIW) and said that “the east coast needs a WAC”

Yes, it does… and I would be far from against starting one.

sorry, the App State assistant AD

sorry, the App State assistant AD
Thanks. Wish I could have heard that conversation.
This convo is turning ugly on the State boards- though Charlotte got a lukewarm reception they aren’t being so kind this time around. (The only Charlotte reference is a derogatory one by an App. State fan)

Most negative things about us said on that thread are from DemonDyke and RacerDick.

LOL. We’re not going to be allowed to grill anything ourselves. We’ll be forced to pay a yearly fee to get Chartwells passes for our GAMEDAY burgers that were cooked the day before!

NO !

If I’m Judy Rose, I’ve already called Charlie Cobb and said “Hey… if you guys decide to do this, we’re right with you. Let’s do this together.”

From there, call every FCS school on the eastern seaboard with the facilities to move up… from Maine to Florida and out to Alabama.

I highly doubt App State is the end of this… Montana will likely move, as well as UTSA, Texas State, and South Alabama. If the cream of the FCS crop does decide to move up, this could be the next wave that we miss.

Considering that Charlotte Football probably was a contributing factor in App deciding to do this feasibility study, why on Earth would they want to work with us on it? Seems to be counter to part of their goals in doing this.

Well, it all depends on their motives. Are they doing this to get ahead, or are they doing this because the possibility of an aggressive timetable for Charlotte to FBS would leave them behind?

If it is the latter, then what better way is there to ensure that they don’t get left behind than doing it together? This is a situation where both sides have more to gain from cooperation than competition, IMO.

In Soviet Russia… you make the smoke unhealthy.

For a small price… I can handle said person.

clt says this person has no place in the group.

Who knows? I do think they are doing this in part because they think we’ll “mess up” the balance in this state and they’ll need to get a jump on us or lose their edge.

I hope everyone else explained to her why she was an idiot.

I know. In the original thread I said banning cigarette smoke was a slippery slope. There are carcinogens in grill smoke too. Why do you think Debbie Downer is against it?

i can see the sign already.

NO GRILLIN'. ALL FOOD MUST BE PURCHASED FROM CONCESSION STAND

and then only one concession stand with chartwells putting only 2 people in it to work.
