Baseball Recruiting

Cant complain about his release until we see his replacement.

Baseball is “mighty white” not just Charlotte…

MLB is 7.7% African American and 31.7% Hispanic/Latin American and about 58% white. Now College Baseball is REALLY white.

NCAA Baseball don’t historically do much in the Latin American markets, those kids go pro. The current demographics of the game should tell you college baseball is a predominantly white sport. 2020 NCAA Statistics show 8.2% African American (and about 30% of those kids play for HBCU squads). White players take up the bulk of that Latino MLB number and comprise close to 77% of the total. We aren’t unusual I’m sorry to say. This brings us to the fact baseball has lost a generation of urban/city kids to basketball.

If I were a betting man, I’d guess this was more wanting a firm position rather than being the utility guy more so than a cultural fit.

This seems like a good bet to me. :sunglasses:

I heard somewhere that this was the case. Don’t know how reliable the source was, though.

Then why wasn’t this hashed out during the season?

if there is no opening there is no opening. Hard to argue with what we have coming back up the middle.

That does suck. He had that terrible slump at the end of his season. I know everyone has slumps.

He was very good before the injury mid season.

May they have as much success as Lutz had there.

Best of luck to all three, but I sure would like to play and beat them if we get the chance.

We already knew this was going down, correct? Do we play them this year?

Does that ring like a planned grudge transaction to anybody else? Or just a coincidence?

Both Gino and Dom decided to transfer before Bo left.

With the new transfer rules, when you have talented players, other schools are going to come after them. People were after others on our roster from what I’ve heard. It’s like free agency now.

Dom is going to be a great player and will likely be drafted next year. Gino is a great talent and he will be drafted the year after that.

But when I look at our roster, I am very happy with what it looks like. Apparently Baseball America likes it too.

Bo is a 49er and he always will be. I wish him all the best and I’m sure he will kick ass there. But whenever we play them, I hope we kick their ass just like I know they are going to try to kick ours.

They probably paying Bo a lot more than we did. And transfer are just the way it is these days. We certainly are bringing in our fair share
