Baseball RPI

The baseball team is 32nd in the rpi after this weekend’s sweep of the Bonnies. The A-10 is the 22nd rated conference. Ouch.

Ouch

I’m surprised the conference even ranked that well. I looked at warren nolan prior to conference play and it seemed like everyone was sub-200 in the rpi except for us!

Lol can’t have everything I guess…We sacrifice good baseball conference to have a good bball one

UR RIGHT. WE’D BE MORE MAD IF IT WAS THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

Yep the A-10 is a brutal baseball conference. Makes it even that more important to win a couple of the games against Clemson, Chapel Hill, Winthrop, etc.

Still wish we would schedule some mid-week games against Elon, Coastal, Charleston, Wilmington, ECU.

Didn’t we lose the A10 in baseball last year?

Yeah… Dayton and X both played well above their normal level last year.

I wish we had some weekend series with the teams you mentioned. I would love to go down to Charleston for a weekend of baseball this time of year. ECU would be a great spot to go as well. They probably draw more for the baseball team than they do for their hoops team.

It would be great if some of those teams mentioned would come to Hayes for a weekend. It beats playing teams like Marist, Harvard, and Austin Peay.

Went to ECU/ Virginia earlier this year. Thought it would be a fun time, but as soon as they found out I went to Charlotte they got vicious. “Whats it like going to a Division III school”, “we used to own your asses”, “all of your sports suck, except for golf”, “why are you trying to add football, we have enough teams already”, “you should have gone to a real school”, and many, many more.

Needless to say I never had the greatest opinion of ECU, but I was going for a good time and even pulling for ECU against UVa. Needless to say, that was one of the worst displays of class I have ever witnessed. Won’t be going down for many more, and if I do, I won’t be pulling for ECU. (unless they’re playing Chapel Hell)

That’a exactly why we should play them.

“We used to own you.” I’ll bet they didn’t want to discuss basketball, did they? Kind of like the A&T guy who was happy to show us all of his pictures from the women’s NIT game, but seemed to disappear after the baseball game last week.

“YOU DON’T EVEN GET ANY HOMETOWN PRESS WHEN YOU BEAT TEAMS LIKE THE TARHOLES”. THE RALEIGH PAPER PUTS OUR WINS UP THEIR WITH THE ACC WINS.

FIXED (and I have actually heard something very similar from an EZU grad).

A10 Baseball = Southern Conference Basketball

A10 Baseball = Southern Conference Basketball

I made the exact same comparison the other day. That’s why these conference games are so important. We need the top seed for the tournament to have the best shot to win it. If we don’t take the conference tournament, we’ll get left out.

Yep. You have to get one of those byes in the 1st round to save your pitching in the tourney.

why do we never play ecu in baseball?

Because they’re scared? I don’t know, that’s a good question. I know this: they are serious about baseball.

It is the best sport they play

Actually, the Southern Conference is probably a little better in basketball than the A-10 is in baseball. But I get your point.

True story. As my friends and I were leaving Minges Coliseum after our basketball team beat them in OT back in 2004, some drunk student ran in front of us and screamed at the top of his lungs right in our faces, “WE’LL SEE YOU MOTHERF—ERS IN BASEBALL!!!” I was utterly bewildered.

Southern Conference Basketball RPI = 20

A10 Baseball RPI = 21
