WCU is 5-3, they beat UNCW in their Friday game. Hope we can get back on track this weekend because we run the gauntlet after this series.
WCU was supposed to play at Wake Forest today but it was cancelled yesterday. I was a little worried that it might affect our weekend series, but it doesn’t look like it will.
Looks like we got some good national pub in the loss yesterday. Not as much as a win would have brought but still nice.
Marozas started out a little shaky but settled down in his 2nd D1 appearance. Going to be fun to watch him as the season progresses.
Woodard has gone to Scherbenske 3 times out of the pen so far. He’s another getting his first D1 experience.
Definitely not a clean ballgame from either side yesterday, particularly on the pitching side of things. Lots of walks, HBP (mostly by our pitchers), wild pitches, etc. Made for a long ballgame too, almost 4 hours! Hopefully our pitchers can find the strike zone a little more this weekend.
We also got an introduction to a slow grass infield.
Nothing like what we play on.
Wake Forest has now postponed their games for this weekend and next week. We are scheduled to play there in 2 weeks.

FAU is on fire so far.
FAU and ODU are going to be tough in the East this year. Good thing we get FAU at home for 4, then that 8 game H/H with ODU back to back. We have really good pitching depth, and after watching some of both of those games last night, they have some quality depth on the mound too. FAU’s bullpen was lights out last night.
