Biff Poggi Fired

The dude wins, he’s a POS and will leave the first chance he gets. But he’ll win more than we’ve experienced and will get the program in the right direction.

His teams are also fun to watch. I’d be happy winning anyway, but a high flying offense makes it a bigger draw.

I think this is where I am on this now. Just don’t embarrass us please.

Yeah fortunately fornusbwere hiring a football coach, not a life coach. Maybe the hiring panel knows that because Hill certainly has confused the two in the past.

100%. Because it would be us taking it seriously instead of whatever we’ve been doing.

The problem is, does our leadership want to take football seriously? Because Bobby has won at FCS, G5, CUSA, Big East, SEC, and he’s had a cup of coffee in the league.

FAU was really open minded towards Lane Kiffin and adjusting to his recommendations. Butch won early at FIU, but reports are, they fought him tooth and nail with suggestions for how to better run the program. My fear is that we are FIU lol.

I think it is telling that he’s having more oversight on this one. Hopefully it helps.

My hope is that the admin realizes the power of winning quickly. Football rules the roost at so many places because the attention, donations, money and all of the positives become extremely apparent to everyone.

We’ve never seen that. And to the FIU point they can win a conference championship and still only have 50 fans In the stands.

The old days of recruiting that was def a component of recruiting. Sitting in a players house talking to parents about developing their child not just as a player but also as a person.

In how the sport is now operating - it’s just not the way it works now.

In HS sports coaches are often time defacto parents so I get it, but college now is just not that. With NIL involved it’s just not near as important.

I don’t care who the person is as long as he is ready to come in and win and has a history of doing that at all aspects of the game.

We tried numerous times to hire that coach that wants to life coach and love the players to death. That didn’t work. Like others have said, that era is over. Of course, parents want to make sure that their kids are taken care of, however they primarily want to know if their kid is going to play high quality football with a high quality football program and have the ability to be noticed by NFL scouts. FULL STOP!!!

Let’s get that FOOTBALL (not life) coach and turn this damn program around and compete for some MF’ing conference championships and go bowling. I want to see the NINERS in post season football.

Man I hope we find out that Gaber called Mike in, said ā€œwho are your top candidates?ā€ and he told her and she went ā€œnope. We’re setting up a committee.ā€

She extended him, so she has to own him, and she knows the fans aren’t happy with him for the sports that matter. She’s been getting tagged on twitter for months calling for his head. He probably had some boneheaded Mike Hill specials lined up and Gaber was like ā€œAbsofuckinglutely not.ā€

Does anyone have a subscription that would be willing to summarize that link?

I’m not sure where I lean on who to go with.

But I am sure who I don’t want to go with- Brewster- may be a great dude, but DO NOT hire the interim guy- ever (cough Fearne cough). The dead cat bounce from the FAU and UAB wins should be ignored. I don’t care if every player on this roster is 110% behind him, Purdie can say yell Brewster till he is blue in the face- The players should have no voice in this.
