Until the new coach gets hired, I guess we’ll continue having 8 posts of how firing after 2 seasons is too soon, followed up by a post saying that Biff was already checked out and was asking to be fired.

So up until the firing of Poggi you were happy with everything related to Charlotte athletics, got it.

I’m happy until 3 or 4 years doesn’t work. Then it’s time to make a change. Until then nothing good comes from early firings. Messy situation with players who are have relationships with coaches not the school or fans. Messy situation with recruits. Messy situation with buyouts. Messy situation with perception of your program to good coaches we’re interested in. Good coaches want to go to programs that give coaches time.

If Dilfer wins 7 or 8 in year 3 after 2 dismal years, we will all look like idiots.

Not sure how Dilfer relates to Poggi in this scenario. Only way to measure if we MIGHT have won in year 3 of Poggi is for him to become an HC at another program facing similar issues as us.
I think Poggi is done with being an HC.

Dilfer also has a $3.6 million buyout this year which would be paid out monthly until 2028.
Pretty sure Dilfer is still UAB coach because they can’t afford to fire him.

He probably thought there was financial support for the program.
The portal is most of recruiting anyways. Plus, if its a sitting HC, he can bring guys with him

For allof mikes faults, at least he’s never put us in a position where we owe a coach that much. Of course though that’s also due to the low salaries we pay due to his inability to fundraise

Wha is our portal budget? Do we have the same amount when we had Biff? And if Brewster is hired, he is not bringing any players with him.
