Iāve never been to an Ole Miss game but āthe Groveā isnāt a parking lot. Could we better utilize the green space around the stadium?

If the students canāt tailgate in that field by the stadium, it would be cool if the ability to cheaply rent out a space would exist for us adults.
Thisā¦I used to be in black lot and we sometimes tailgated. Been back in the red lot the last 2 and havenāt tailgated at all.the lot is too far away and not enough tailgaters for a good atmosphere there. Too far from other lots.
This!! The student āalcohol freeā tailgate behind the pavilion is lame. Let the common folks tailgate in that area.
Iām gonna throw this out too and it might ruffle some feathers. Of the big dollar donors up there - how many actually increased their giving due to football? Many of them were already donating large sums for basketball alone - they are just getting additional football benefits. Of the smaller donors though football has driven increases. Just something to think about.
I wonder if some sort of āuse it or lose itā policy could be enforced. If you donāt show up to 3-4 games, you lose eligibility for a tailgating lot the following year.
Thatās a great idea, and promotes having somebody else use it if you canāt.
clt recommends a valet service for the big donors. Pull up to gold lot area, drop keys to Audi to the attendant and walk into game.

That tailgate is a joke, but I think for the UMASS game it was infront of Belk Gym. If that wasnāt it then there was another āalcohol freeā tailgate there.
Tailgate in that area behind the Pavilion could have been for Deanās List at UMass.
That was a tailgate for some program/college within the University. Canāt recall what it was off-hand, but not a student tailgate spot.

Both tailgates (G-W and UMass) were not really good at least from the outside looking in.
Weāll have our best tailgate of the year this Saturday if history tells us anything. History will also note that Homecoming has some of our worst game attendance figures as well.
Seems counterintuitive that homecoming of all games would have low attendance. But itās a sad fact for us. Sad. Iām sure the hot weather forecast will negatively impact it even more. Just when we really need a good loud showing for this key conference game too. Sad.
