What kind of support do these ncaaf reporting experts have for these bowl projections? It’s literally nothing at all right? It’s all ridiculous to me.
Some of them are just based on gut and conference ties. Some of them have contacts with the bowls so they have some inside information.
The bowls themselves aren’t very secretive about who they visit and are interested in. Belk has indicated Charlotte would be on their radar if eligible and available via their twitter feed (yeah, I am probably reading more into it).
From the AD 9 Bowl tie ins.
Bahamas, Frisco, New Mexico, New Orleans, Gaspirilla, Hawaii, First REsponder, Boca Raton or Independance.
When are bowls announced?
The Hawaii Bowl is very unlikely. BYU already accepted an invite and will almost uncertainly play Hawaii.
14 teams still with a chance to become bowl eligible. There are 78 slots with 72 teams already eligible.
Teams that must win their final game for bowl eligibility
ACC (2): Boston College, North Carolina
Big Ten (2): Michigan State, Nebraska
MAC (2): Kent State, Ohio
Pac-12 (2): Colorado, Oregon State
SEC (1): Mississippi State
Independent (1): Liberty[b]
Number of teams that must win their final game for bowl eligibility: 13
Teams one loss away from bowl ineligibility
Independent (1): Army
We need Mississippi St to lose.
The SEC, the ACC and Liberty are really the only ones I see affecting us much
We have a ton in Conference, but if we win next week I dont see how we dont get chosen since it would be our first bowl game. Honestly, even at 6-6 I think we should just because it’s our first time being eligible. I dont think the conference would want to take that black eye and not give us a bowl
7-5 will put us into pretty much a guaranteed bowl slot.
Jerry Palm of CBS Sports has Charlotte vs UNC in the Independence Bowl. Game to be played in Shreveport,LA. on December 26th.
Miss opens up -1 vs Miss St on the road.
I’ve seen us in the belk v Pitt and in the boca Raton v western Michigan this morning
Also saw us v Liberty in the Birmingham bowl
Indy Bowl vs Chapel Hole also today, cbs
Independence Bowl vs Chapel Hill would work. Day after Christmas and at 4:00. Also days getting longer so we will have 9 extra minutes of sun. Might be able to work that out. As they said in Animal House, Road trip!!!
I want nothing to do with CHeat. We never get fair officiating.
ESPNs two guys had us in Tampa vs. Temple or in Albuquerque vs. SDSU
Anywhere but NM or Texas.
I dont know if you have ever been to NM, but it is an amazing place. I went with work a couple years ago and it’s a top 3 place I have ever been.
