Braxton Ogbueze - 2012 PG/SG
Great news. Said before and say again, chasing stud hi d1 transfers who want to be home is a smart MO.

Now 2 things must happen.

 1. THIS season must be a success, Sullivan nor this kid allow Major to “wait until these kids are juniors” or kick the can further
 2. KEEP TEAM INTACT
Love that you gave yourself a pat on the back for that. Want to go out on a limb and predict on Eastern sunrise tomorrow?

LOL! So you’re saying that going after talented players that want to stay in the Charlotte area is a smart thing to do?

You dont say!?! Tell us more!

Give credit where credit is due. Had he not said that no one would be doing it.

Players that go away to play (and not stay) and want to come back to the area is what he is talking about.

Wasnt patting anything. Said In another thread i like chasing the Mahfield and Sullivan types.

Shit… Give Major a hat tip and u guys still act like my 11 and 13 yr old girls.

Yes i understand his point. Its just a statement of the obvious.

It’s so cute when you try to be clever. Come back when you can do it at a level above middle school.

GETTING BACK ON TOPIC HERE… This is a great article about Braxton, for those who have not seen it yet. Sounds like a very mature kid who works his tail off.

Written by our boy Jason Jordan no less. Sounds like a great kid. Can’t wait to see him on the court.

So that article Chisox posted said he played for CP3 AAU, so he would have played with Lester, I think he probably helped get him here.

I know everyone gives Tim a hard time around here but he’s right. They need to win with the group they have going into 2013-14, especially going into a conference like CUSA. However, given Ogbueze and Sullivan coming in, unless '13-'14 is a TOTAL wash and they tank completely, Major will be back in '14-'15.

Ogbueze is the most exciting player we’ve had come to Charlotte in the last 8 years, in my opinion.

Tyler who? ;D

Sounds like a definite Major recruit. Hard working, humble, game does not owe him anything type of kid.

If Major can continue to recruit top 75 kids he does not need to know how to coach that well. Players trump coaching ability in a lot of cases in college.

Excited about the kid.

Would love for him to start getting in the ears of the local Charlotte kids about coming to play with him at Charlotte.

That would be huge!!

Feel like this has been in the works for a while. Big name kids like this do not move on the drop of a dime and come to Charlotte.
Major has been very good with late signings so far. Ogbueze, Sullivan, and Henry I believe.

Huge get! I agree with the comparisons to Demon. Very similar game. This kid is an absolute stud scoring the ball. Exactly what we needed. Would be much better if he was eligible right away, but the 2014 team has potential to be our best team since our 99’ CUSA championship team. With Ogbueze and Lester scoring abilities, Willie should be a legit conference POY candidate in the 14-15’ season. I wouldn’t be against giving major an extra year after this land, but wouldn’t want to extend him anymore than that until we see what he does this first year in CUSA, and make sure we retain out players. If we can scrounge up one more big guy for this years class I will be super thrilled!!

I get the Demon comparisons, Ogbueze makes me think of a rich-mans Leemire. Either way, great to have him in the fold.

Yeah I would think more along the lines of Leemire because he shows more of a 15 ft pull up game and drives more. However it is HS, so in college his game might be more perimeter oriented.
