Bring Bobby Back

I watch every game & hope for us to win. But more than anything I hope we look like we are getting better & making progress. Improving so that we can get back to where we want to be. I’m sick of being disappointed over & over again. For every decent game we play we have 2 or 3 duds. We have way too much talent to struggle to barely be above .500. The players deserve better. The fans deserve better. After three and a half seasons we have seen enough to know we aren’t going to get better with Sanchez in charge. I’m not sure what you are seeing that makes you think differently. I want us to win every game but if the best we are ever going to do is win every other game I would prefer to rip off the band-aid sooner rather than later.

You are misreading what I am saying! I am not saying one is wrong for wanting a coaching change or hoping for one. I am saying in my eyes to hope the team loses games so you can get a change is wrong. In the end things work themselves out either way, but come on pulling for the team to lose just so you know a change would occur especially with 13 games left is beyond me.

Frankly I would rather win games now than pull for loses so just maybe the next coach pulls off a miracle and turns it around in two years.

I hoped the panthers lost their last several games so we get a good/better draft pick.

Nothing wrong with both view points here. Both are valid. If gonna finish as a 175 team might as well hope they finish 225 and ron gets canned right? Or if they finish 175 this year hopefully ron gets some stellar transfers and we make ncaa tourney next year right? Everyone’s right.

You are entitled to your opinion. You’re also wrong.

Anything that possibly keeps Sanchez here, a coach who has proven he can’t get it done, is hurting the program.

Yep, I’d totally get the defense if this was rons second year. The guy has coached 100 games for us. The same issues have been present in virtually every game. He’s not just going to suddenly get it.

Rons been coaching for decades at this point. He just doesn’t have the it factor to be the lead man. If he did, we’d have seen flashes of it by now.

Let me ask you this, who are you pulling for to win tonight? You want us to lose so Sanchez gets canned, so that means tonight you are a fan of ODU?

FWIW…I don’t think Hill is blind on what is going on and we will not know his feelings (rightly so) until he makes some changes. I just can’t believe he is satisfied with mediocre performance by any of our teams.
I will go on record that I do not like our present basketball coach and would like to see him replaced but there is no way I would want us to lose games simply for the reasoning of firing him. Not fair to his players nor the school.

My two cents.

I want a new coach because I believed he’s not the guy to take us to where we want to be.

But there are a lot of factors in play on when that happens. There are monetary concerns, player loyalty concerns (his players may love and believe in him, how I’m I supposed to know?), what other coaches are available and who Hill thinks he can get. What coach may be possibly coming available after another season (Hill may have a dream candidate but know there’s no way he can get him this off season), optics of firing a coach mid season, etc., etc.

We have an AD in charge and I just have to wait and trust him to make the right call. If I cannot do that then we should be having a question about do we have the right AD and right now I think we do.

But I cannot and will not ever watch a niner game of any form and hope for them to lose. Not now. I may have gone there mentally in the past but at this point it’s Niners all the way. I’ll let the other stuff work itself out.
