comes with the territory.
Best of luck Coach Tall.
This would stink but it happens.
How much do the coordinators make here? If he is leaving his DC position here to be a position coach at WVU it is a pay thing
Well, that and being a position coach at WVU gets you far more exposure than DC at Charlotte.
Had hoped to get a few years deep before loosing anyone, but Coach Lambert always seems to find quality. Love to keep Coach Tall, but wish him the best regardless… look forward to seeing how this plays out.
Some salaries of interest:

For an FCS program we were. Have to remember when we hired him going CUSA so soon was not on the agenda. If I recall correctly we were paying a top 5 FCS coaching salary. Obviously now that will probably go up some.

Which one of these is not like the others?
Ruffin McNeil makes over 1 mil at EZU. If we are gonna win, we better pay.
Cara Consuegra $165,000
Cara Consuegra $165,000
Check out what 3 former WBB coaches make at 3 BCS schools. I’m not looking it up, but its a ridiculous amount of money in all three cases. The point is this: in an arms race with
schools who have lost their minds, we will lose no matter what sport you are talking about. That’s why I get a chuckle out of everyone who tosses off the old "we need to get a proven winner"
card. If Lambert does as well as I hope he does, he’ll be getting offers only a fool would turn down. Just the way the world works nowadays.
And basketball needs to make it back to the NCAA’s. Time for it to become a revenue sport and not a black hole. I would expect to see Lambert and staff get increased $$ moving into 2015.

That’s a tough one.

I understand what you are saying, but it seems we are paying her much much more than the coaches of our other non-revenue sports, not to mention more than our assistant football coaches. Why?

I understand what you are saying, but it seems we are paying her much much more than the coaches of our other non-revenue sports, not to mention more than our assistant football coaches. Why?
The point is that some coaches at BCS schools make more than they are objectively worth. How our particular athletic dept allocates its resources is a whole other subject. Our football coaches, as has been pointed out, are being paid at a 1-AA level. Cara is being paid at a 1-A level. Whether she’s somewhat overpaid or not, her salary is not affecting the other parts of our athletic program all that much. Ask me in person some time and
I’ll share my opinion about whether she’s earning it.
Time to step up and do what’s necessary to keep our folks… But to do that dollars have to come in the door. I feel we are doing pretty well in so many areas, but this is a cross roads. Just because he interviewed doesn’t necessarily mean he wants to leave.
when Lambert was hired his salary was reported as like $350,000/year so this $253,000 must be base only.
