Cameron Tatum - 2006

won’t happen, Tatum is 4A Wilderness is 3A

Is Tatum going to prep school next year?I’m hearing grades will prevent him from signing with the 49ers this spring.Would love to see him ink in the fall of 06 with Beasley and Harmon. What’s the latest on him?

I sure hope everthing works out with Tatum academically. He poured in 37 points Friday night in the opening round of the playoffs. That’s a big time player showing up when it counts.

Nice find.

Highlights (King is Tatum, aka King Supreme):
Kut: You had offers from Georgia, Alabama, NC State, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Why the Charlotte 49ers?

King: I pick Charlotte for the simple fact that they were on me for the last two years. I like coach Lutz, the staff and love the city. I was waiting on Georgia but they took forever to try to recruit me. After I had my breakout game at the Adidas Showtime everybody start calling, Connecticut and Tennessee wanted me bad. I wanted to stay close to home with Georgia but they haven’t seen the NCAA tournament in a minute.

Kut: Keep it real, this Da Bricks Kut’s Korner if we can’t say it on the Korner we can’t say it no where, tell me truth… What did Charlotte say that know one else said to make you say ok I am with UNC Charlotte?

King: Coach Lutz told me, “if you don’t play another game I still want you, your scholarship is on the table, I know what you can do.”

Kut: What player have you played against and might have said to yourself that “man that guy is just as good?”

King: Michael Beasley, no doubt. Beasley is a beast. Mike B got that work. When I see him dunking in warm ups I was like this guy got it.

Kut: Nike or Reebok?

King: Nike

i just thought i would bump this to show the articles, i posted it after a win so it may have gotten lost.

Tatum cannot get here fast enough. I love the class we’re putting together. If they all stay 3 or 4 years (together), there’s no telling what they’ll be capable of.

It was probably lost on the interviewer that the person he was most impressed with is a future fellow Niner. I know you guys know that, but damn. Good to read.

Also impressive was that guy who mentioned Wilderness and Tatum as the best players in GA he went up against.

I sent Kut an email that put the two together and included the link to this thread. Got it all covered.

ninerreport has a new article about him, one key line in the article had something very small in it but I was able to catch.

talking about preparing for his SAT

"Preparing like this will only help me in college next year, because I'm learning when to study and how to study."

That is good news, thanks.

A complete and total guess, but if he is preparing to take the SATs that probably means he still hasn’t qualified to come here yet. I’m not sure when the deadline is, but I would guess his chances of getting a high enough score are probably running out.

Another complete and total guess, but the JUCO big men seem to be a backup plan with Tatum’s status up in the air.

I hope Tatum shows up next year, I am really looking forward to seeing him play, Anderson, Dewhurst, Tatum and Wilderness, when is the last time we had more than 2 freshman coming in who looked like they could actually get PT for us?

Does this mean he will be here in 06? I hope so.

God damn a shiver went down my spine after re-reading this therad for the 10th time. Hell yes.

God damn

Easy my friend. I usually get your point without it. Thanks.

Next season will be a rebuilding season hopefully these hot recruits can produce.

i bet we are better next year than this year. hopefully these new guys have heart, somthing i feel we lack at the point. say what you want about carolina but those guys play with heart for 40 mins.

I agree, granted we will be losing one of the best Niner big men that has ever come through here, We will be actually getting a PG.

Carlos Williams (A True PG), along with Lee, DA, EJ, and DumpTruck or Courtney Williams will be a nice lineup. I see DumpTruck’s game progressing in the offseason as he trains and loses even more wieght. Hopefully EJ can come back and be effective.

With that lineup and Tatum (if he’s able to come), Dewhurst, Andersen, Lewis, Phaler, & Williams or Dumptruck coming off the bench I can easliy seeing us going 10 deep next year. Maybe this is a far-fetched statement but I thought Andersen was going be the one seeing the bench most likely the 1st year, but he’s been shooting lights out in HS.

The future is bright boys and it only gets brighter when Harmon & Beasley & Others gets here in 07.
