I just never felt like he was going to signed once he did not sign in the fall. I always felt the grades were a prop to see if anyone else wanted him.
A positive about this, if he isnāt eligable for the fall, he canāt sign until November. If Beasley signs with us, maybe that will swing Tatum back to us.
If he is eligable for the fall, he can sign next week, not good news for us.
When Booker signs in 7 days (April 12th kicks off Spring signing period), all scholarships will be filled. Iāll take Booker signed over waiting for Tatum for 06. Of course if Beasley signs in November, Tatum and a host of others will be lining up to play with him.

I hope so Lefty, I hate missing out on Tatum but I do agree that Booker is a better sign for us. We need a big man and heās a great get.
Edit:
There is another article up on Rivals, this one says heās opened his recruitment back up and is looking at Tennessee, Georgia and he hopes 'Cuse gets involved. Absolutely no mention of us except that he decomitted from us.

So I am reading the Vols rivals board.
First off football, no matter how much they suck, is number 1.
Second, they have yet to mention cameron tatum on their message board
Third, they have one scholarship and a guy is talking about 3 possiblities they have offered, none of which are tatum.
Come to a school that wants you.
What about UGA? Do they have any 'ships left? That the school he staed that he wanted to go to.

Well said ID. Tatum - I hope youāre reading this, Hill may be gone but weāre still here and we still want you.
Here is a little blurb from Scout.com (It is part of a article on UTās pursit of he and Ramar Smith(who commited to UT)
SECOND SHOOTER
Also scheduled to visit Tennessee this weekend is Cameron Tatum, a 6-foot-5, 190-pound wing from Tucker, Ga., where he recently completed his high school career.
Tatum averaged 20.7 points, seven rebounds, three assists and a pair of blocks as a junior and approached those figures again as a senior at Tucker High School. He committed to North Carolina-Charlotte in November, but is now considering a year in prep school to sharpen his skills and solidify his academics. If he does choose the prep school path, Tatum is expected to enroll either Laurinburg Institute or Hargrave Military Academy. He would then be free to sign with another college during the November signing period and could enroll in time for the 2007 season.
Tatum became a hot commodity during last summerās AAU season and was recruited by Tennessee, Georgia, Memphis, N.C. State and others, before deciding to stick by N.C.-Charlotte which was the first college to offer him a scholarship.
āBefore we arrived, Tatum was the talk of the event, emerging as a potential high-major wing,ā Scout.com analyst Dave Telep wrote at last year. āAthletically heās already there, skill wise heās got to continue working on being a perimeter threat. Heās impressed enough teams here early in the event to warrant strong looks in the second half of the summer.ā
Tatum further showcased his skills this past weekend at the Playaz Spring Fling in Teaneck, N.J., leading the Atlanta Celtics to the quarterfinals of the tournament. He paced the Celtics with 17 points in the loss to the Long Island Lightning.
"Iāve added more to my game,ā Tatum said. āIām going to the hole more and taking guys off the dribble. Thatās my bread and butter now because my jump shot hasnāt really been on lately.ā
from Detroit, supposedly a top 50 Romar something. If thatās their last schollie (and I donāt follow the orange, only the green) then Tatum wonāt be ending up thereā¦
tatum is still looking to sign in the 07-08 period.
I think you mean Ramar Smith. Since as Dax is saying heās looking like heāll prep (over our way⦠interesting) that takes '06 class signings out of the picture. If he comes to prep closer to us, we might get a crack at him playing a game in the Charlotte area.
thatās the guy. Heās a top-50 guard out of Detroit. He just signed with Tennessee this week. Donāt know if that uses up all of their 'ships or not.
Iām about 99.9999999% personally convinced heās not coming to Charlotte regardless of the TN situation. Disappointed, but thatās how it goes. Very much like how it went with Rondo and especially Von Wafer.
Well this stinks.
Well this stinks.
This does stink. However, I think Booker fits better in our system because he is a better outside shooter than Tatum. Additionally, Booker seems very intelligent and will be a great student athlete.
You do have to be encouraged we can miss on a Tatum but land a Booker. Good point.
A couple of players to keep your eyes on this weekend at the Real Deal on the Hill are former Charlotte commitment Cameron Tatum and Savannah (Ga.) scorer Casey Mitchell.
Tatum will suit up with the Atlanta Celtics at the Real Deal. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard took a visit to Tennessee last weekend and said he enjoyed himself with Bruce Pearl.
āThat guy is a star there. We were walking down the street and people were leaning out of their windows saying, āBruce Pearl for governor.ā They love him up there,ā Tatum said.
Tatum is a strong lean to the SEC school barring a qualifying score on the SAT. If he doesnāt qualify, heāll be off to prep school, he said.
Beasley will also be playing in the Real Deal on Hill based on Little Rock paper
Word on Tatum, not like we didnāt already know. from rivals.
Cameron Tatum- This 6-foot-6 shooting guard was very effective in the Atlanta Celtics full court press and transition game. Even more impressive was how he pressured the ball defensively in the half court. A very athletic player, Tatumās shot looked good from the outside and he also attacked the basket with authority.
Waiting to receive his college prep test scores, Tatum named Tennessee, Cincinnati and Georgia as schools of interest if he qualifies. Tennessee is in the driverās seat after his visit to Knoxville last weekend.
āIāll probably end up at Tennessee if I qualify,ā said Tatum. āI liked it there a lot. Itās a good situation and they have a good thing going. Itās a place that can get me focused academically and get me where I want to be on the court. They have a great coaching staff and Coach Pearl is great.ā
Something to make you angry
From Scout Front Page:
If thereās a better spring steal out there than Cameron Tatum we havenāt seen him. The kid is 6-foot-5, can score, is athletic and has quite the offensive game.
