Out of curiosity - when does the NCAA allow our players (sans Bowden & Coleman) to have their 1st practice together to prepare for the trip? Will Spears be eligible to play in Canada?
They get 10 days of practice beforehand. I don’t Spears will be able to play in Canada since he is a transfer.
Most important, will they be viewable online/here in Charlotte?

More important than “will they be viewable” is…Will the 49er Club put together a travel package? After all, its an extended weekend.
Can’t believe they’d miss this opportunity.

As far as I recall, transfers cannot travel with the team. So Spears will not be going to Canada with the team.
“newcomers will not receive as much practice time before the trip as returning players. Newcomers - including freshman Shamarr Bowden and junior transfer RaShad Coleman - will not be allowed to participate in practice until the first day of fall semester classes”.
So when is the 1st day of classes?

Charlotte will depart on Aug. 29 and then play three teams in three days starting with the University of Toronto on Aug. 30, University of Guelph on Aug. 31 and Sheridan College on Sept. 1. The team will return to Charlotte following its game against Sheridan College.
So the team starts practicing on August 20th. Bowden and Coleman can start on the 25th. Games are 30th, 31st and Sept 1. Then, they can’t practice as a team again until mid-October? What’s the first day of practice for everyone?
Lefty, I believe I read somewhere that the first day of practice was Friday, October 17.
Basketball Madness usually falls around that time.
Can anyone post a pic of Coleman? I’ve never found one…

Are their practices closed?
Jim, are you going? Any internet or video highlights maybe from Niner Network All Access???
I hear the Wolfpack will also be up in Toronto this weekend. Maybe we can get a closed door scrimmage.
ssncanada.ca streams sporting events for canadian teams. University of Toronto is one of their affiliate schools so maybe we will have an online stream of the game. They are streaming South Alabama vs Ottawa and Kansas vs. somebody so maybe we’ll luck out and ours will be as well. fan590.com covers the University of Toronto so if nothing else maybe it will be on the radio.
