Can't tailgate until 4 hours before gametime?

Did anyone see that the official policy is that the tailgating areas don’t open up until 4 hours before gametime?

I was planning on being there at the crack of dawn for the first game. I wonder if the policy will be enforced?

Yes it has been discussed here. This policy will be tested on 8-31 for sure.

This should push tailgating back about an hour for us. But really not we’ll just be there at 7 and drink in the truck until they open up…and for some reason I dont think we’ll be alone.

I will be tailgating wherever they stop me that morning. If that means pulling out a chair and sitting in the middle of Mary Alexander Road then so be it.

They will have quite a line of cars to deal with when the clock strikes 8.

Some things never change. Every time we get something new the admins go crazy with rules. haha

They will have quite a line of rowdy, liquored up Niners? to deal with when the clock strikes 8.

Actually, campus won’t be opened until 4 hours before gametime. http://pats.uncc.edu/football-parking

Coming from the triad this won’t be an issue for me… though it is stupid…

They are planning on closing the university entrances between 7am and 8am. I think we should should all show up early just to create a traffic jam so they will be forced to abandon the idea for future games.

So tailgate at Bojangles or McD’s until 8?

or show up at 6am!

There will be plenty of cops and ALE officers on campus, many undercover. Be mindful of open container laws. You can be busted without the keys even being in the ignition.

no need to drink - clogging up traffic will be a sign enough of needing to change policy

We plan on being safe about it for sure.

Arriving before 7am when they close the campus does seem like an option. I’m considering arriving around 6:30am.

The policy is stupid to begin with. Why would you want to limit your customer’s enthusiasm for your product?

If people want to get out there at 6 am and cook some breakfast and take their time setting up their tailgate, why not.

The Noon kick-offs are really the killer, but when we eventually get lights, people are going to want to set up shop all day for a night game on campus.

Bojangles opens at 5:30. I will stop by there first and then head over.

Yeah I am expecting to get there WAYYYYY early. Wife and kid have a deck pass so the only thing stopping me is my desire for sleep, of which there will prob be none that night because I will be too excited.

This policy won’t change unless we force the issue. I know they are worried about drinking, but this is just stupid.
