Carolina Panthers šŸˆā€ā¬›

It’s not the batted balls to worry about…he’s gonna get broke in half.

At some point my guess is a real NFL player will hit/tackle him…it may even happen on several occasions…not good.

There needs to be an over under on how many games he will actually play at QB vs how many games he will miss by being on IR.

Actually on second thought…maybe I’m still stuck in the days of real football.
Don’t watch it much at all anymore. The way they protect the players and especially QBs from hits…maybe he’s got a shot at staying relatively healthy.

No way a QB of his stature would have survived the NFL of 20yrs ago.

But it’s not 20 years ago anymore.

I’m going to love Bryce Young proving the naysayers wrong in the NFL, just as he did in the SEC

This is a good point, if Bryce learns to play like Brady did and cry and bitch everytime a defensive lineman touches him he will be fine. Hope he doesn’t run around like Cam did or he will be hurt after 1 game.

I don’t get the height issue with injuries either. You are closer to the ground. He’s been playing nfl football already. He apparently learned to take hits. Anyone can get hurt, even big guys. There are those 3-5 hits a year you just have to :crossed_fingers:.Wouldn’t hurt to maybe add good weight though.

Why would a 5’10ā€ 225lb guy get hurt more than a 6’2ā€ 225lb guy? A 325 lb lineman weight doesn’t care about height.

My biggest concern is his desire to extend plays. He likes to scramble around in the pocket and holds onto the ball for too long. NFL is the SEC on sreroids so this is a risky proposition. The talking heads last night were killing me with the comparison of him to Drew Brees and size and quick release. Yes they both have that but how many plays in Brees career have you seen Brees scramble. Make your read and get the ball out and play the whole season.

As I said, you spend a fortune on the OL and this guy will scramble out of the pocket everytime because it’s what he knows.

I know I sound like a BY hater, but I’m not. He is just a horrible fit for what we have built for.

clt says grade the baby bryce pick

Grade the pick not the player. There are some systems I think he could be a better fit for.

It’s more probability. Russell Wilson was pretty thick. They do get protected much more, so it’s not a certainty the pick is doomed.

He’s not 225…he’s listed at 190 which may be generous.

Avg NFL linebackers are 6’3" 240
Avg NFL DL are between 6’3" and 6’4" and somewhere between 280 (DE) and 309 (DT)

Again…they protect QB’s today like crazy so he’s got that going for him but if he scrambles at 5’10" 190 and meets a LB/DT/DE or worse…2 of them…he won’t win that collision…and an injury is very likely.

He’s got to avoid hits like the plague…but even still…they’ll get to him and it may not be pretty when they do.

I know he’s not 225

He looked like a 5th round cover cornerback walking up in the pink suit. Tepper had to cringe think ā€œThus is our Super Bowl winner?ā€

This is why the Steelers never have a losing season and Panthers have bipolar seasons. Picks 1 thru 4 are essential every year if a team builds primarily thru the draft.

The Steelers traded their 4th to move up and get what some consider to be the most talented left tackle in the draft; the guy they wanted most. Then Porter’s son fall to them at 32, which the Bears traded to them last season for a WR that was constantly falling down after every catch.

Then they trade back with the Panthers to get a 6’7ā€ 265 pound tight end they really wanted. Some had that tight end as a top 30 player +- in a deep tight end draft. In that deal, the Steelers get back a 4th round pick and the Panthers lost another.

This is why some teams are consistently the haves and some are the have nots.

Give me a break with all the Steelers propaganda. They are pretty consistently decent to a little above average, but its not like they are challenging for titles every other year. The only reason I hope they do well now is because of Alex and Larry.

How many Lombardi’s do they have? Who do you think is most ready for the next Lombardi?

The Panthers are my second favorite team, but they haven’t been properly managed or coached in most years, especially the last too many
