Charlotte 49er Ice Hockey

I see Canada’s flag there at the rink. Any of our boys Canadian, eh?

This is for some of the hockey fans on NNN. Out of 41 teams Charlotte ranks #26,
This Friday 11/07/14 our opponent is #20 James Madison University at 7:45PM.
Saturday 11/08/14 vs. #28 College of Charleston at 8:45PM.
Sunday 11/09/14 vs. #10 University of Tampa at 11:30 AM.
All games will be at “home” (Extreme Ice - Indian Trail, NC)
Other team in town this week-end are:

  • #8 Kennesaw State.
  • #9 Coastal Carolina.
  • #23 East Carolina.
  • #41 Florida Atlantic.
At the end of the season only the top 10 teams will advance to post-season. Come out and cheer for the boys in GREEN if you guys have a bit of time.

Chidave +1 will be coming out Friday :). Hopefully we can avenge that football defeat to JMU on the ice.

Niners lost a tough one last night (3-8) against Wilmington.

Those are some ugly uniforms.

Niner made 5 goals in the 3rd to log the Win (8-5) against a tough opponent, George Mason University. Congrats the Team on a great job this afternoon. See you guys in 2015.

One of the last two chances to see our boys in action at Extreme Ice Center.

clt declares icing.

It was quite a physical game. Despite great defense effort, our boys were short handed due to injuries. Niners suffered a shutout 0-3 at home. The team will travel to face EZU in Greenville tomorrow. On a ighter note, it was great to see 4ever, Mr. H. and his son at the game tonight. It was also a treat to witness the “passionate” side of 4ever at the rink. I hope to see you at the rink more often this coming season. I am pretty sure the team realy appreciated your “sideline manner” and your support, 4ever.

No “yellow cards” were issued. But, in my opinion there should be a few reds because of fighting. ;D

Let’s hope our boys get better luck going to the coast today. This is one of a few where our boys took more shot on goal but could not find the back of the net.

The next and final home game is Friday 02/06/15, face off at 7:30 PM against the Demon Bacon of Wake Forest. You should come and hang out with us at the last home game of the season.

EZU must have scoured all of eastern North Carolina for goons to put in their defensive end. On the bright side, the biggest and dirtiest of them took a well deserved puck to the leg and had to be assisted off the ice by a couple of team mates. I was very surprised he didn’t elbow them in the face from force of habit on the way to their bench. >:(
I have no idea what 89 is taking about so far as my sideline manner is concerned. Just whispering a few sweet nothings to one the goons.
Reminder that beer is available at the rink for those who wish to partake. ;D

I think the “goon” you referred to is sasquash #6. You did have some fun with him. I believe if he was not hurt. He would go after you at the end of the game or at least give you a hip check in the car park. ;D

Niners beat Demon Bacon 5-4 tonight for the first Win of the season. Elon comes to town tomorrow evening. Face off at 9:30 PM at Extreme Ice. See some of you after the match at Transamerica.

Beat the “bird”

It was a tough game as the bird scored 2 goals in the first 5 minutes. Niners fought back to claim second Win of the season. Bring on the tarholes of UNC-Cheat.
