Charlotte 49ers Athletic Facilities Master Plan discussion

^^^^THIS^^^^

Where’s the hope? Throw a lifeline!

That right there is a slogan.

It needs to be repeated by our fans and heard and seen in the AD.

If we can secure $10 mill for a student tailgating village, I am sure we are in good shape for this.

Charlotte football stadium expansion: coming soon since 2013.

I think when it actually goes public we’ll have to make it a NinerNation Holiday and all call into work sick.

This reminds me of a big sign on the right side of the road on highway 133 on the way to Oak Island from Southport and highway 211, announcing some subdivision coming soon. The sign was put up in the late 70s, and it was STILL THERE the last time I was there a few years back. Now I’ve got to look it up and find the name of it.

Hill has just been busy creating the niner “collective” so he can add it in the master plan. $49k for each player sounds about right.

There was a subdivision entrance sign (stone neighborhood sign on both sides of the entrance) up US-29 from the Speedway where all you could see behind it were cleared roads and a few pipes ends sticking up.

That went up in 2007, it’s completely overgrown and trees are growing back over it last I’ve seen.

Yeah just like the Panthers practice facility in world class city, rock hill, sc.

Or Dee-Dee Harris’ giant hole @ Quail Hollow / Seven Eagles.

Been sitting like that for about 20 years now.

My advice is to always Master Plan to be disappointed.

I learned a long time ago to never expect too much. That way I’m never really all that disappointed…

do you know how many weeks it would be?

I do not. Was just told should hear something in the next couple weeks. Have heard that from multiple folks so seems legit. Just hitting the home stretch on current phase of fund raising. What is awesome is if what I have heard is true then we should see building start relatively soon, vs another 2 years of fund raising. Which is the beauty of the way they have gone about this. Once the shovels hit the dirt now that will drive another fund raising push both large and small and the ask of those of us who donate to help carry it over the line.

There are a lot of recently laid off construction workers in Rock Hill that could start working on projects on our campus.

So apparently there is a student poll to name the new $10 million tailgate area…

Curious as to how NNN feels about the choices:

  • The 49th Acre
  • Ninerville

What does acre have to do with anything?
