A pretty good week for the Niners. We have UAB at home, on the road at LaTech, and then host USM to finish out. I hope we can finish strong for the seniors and carry some momentum into next season.

The conference is looking at only getting 1 or 2 bids at this point. Other than Rice, everyone has had their ups and downs.

Way better than the A-10. 9th in RPI vs 24th in RPI. C-USA has one 200+ team. The A-10 has 7.

I agree with your point…but to be fair, I would bet the bottom 3 (us, tulane, marshall) are only above 200 because of the competition.

That’s how being in a better conference works, right?

Those bottom 3 would be at the top of the A-10 standings.

Interesting comments in this thread.

In other baseball related news, there was a nice article on Tyler Barnette pitching for the Intimidators in the paper this weekend.

Yeah that is how it works. However…Charlotte baseball has sucked this year either way you slice it. Good conference or not. Touting the team RPI above 200 doesn’t mean anything because RPI is driven so much or SOS. It is a smililar argument to Charlotte basketball 2 years ago. The league was a very good league…but we were still at the bottom.

I think everyone would agree that our baseball team has had a bad year. No one is touting the team’s RPI. I just posted the league’s RPI to show the at-large chances for the teams in our league.

Someone else decided to say that this league was almost the same as the A-10.

I don’t think you’ll find anyone saying that it’s been a great season. They have improved as the season has progressed. I take that as a good sign.

This team has definitely gotten much better as the season has gone on. Most of us (that actually follow the team) thought this team would get better as it gained experience (so many young guys playing and some of the few older guys not playing like they have in the past----regardless of the class of the opponent) and it has, as painful as the first half of the season was. I have confidence in this program going forward.

Definitely agree. We are probably easily in the top 100 rpi for just the month of April (if there was a way to calculate it for a month).

Ironically, the baseball team has done the exact opposite of our basketball team. The basketball team started off winning and got worse. The baseball team started off very slowly and got better as the season progressed.

Appropriate considering the topic.

I’m not sure what topic we’re on right now.

Entropy.

I’m with you. (I consulted a dictionary.)
