Cane’s has no taste on its own. Just buy a bottle of the sauce and drink it.
Also, crinkle cut fries are almost impossible to do well, and they don’t.
While I’m handing out hot takes on chicken shops, I’ll say that Dave’s Hot Chicken doesn’t taste good at all. It’s just hot. I like spicy, but I want flavor. Also overrated IMHO, and it’s expensive too.
Bojangles biggest problem is that they’re all dirty and rundown and the food prep is right in line with their store quality. It’s of course not healthy, but done right, their food at least can taste very good. It’s just rare to find a decently run restaurant.
The last time I went there, they told me they are out of their spicy tenders and might not be getting them back ever. Been meaning to make another run and see what’s up with that, cause their spicy tenders were the sleeper in the chicken game. So good. Would be seriously bummed if they dumped them from the menu.
Not without precedent though - they used to have some salads that my wife loved and they took them all off the menu, so we quit going as much.
I go to the original Tenders in Cornelius. The one at Concord Mills has kinda gone down hill. The original is kind of a dump at this point, but a great chick-fil-a alternative food wise.
Somewhat confused by this piece that mentions planned additional lanes to I-77 that would begin at Catawba Avenue/Exit 28 and procede into Iredell. Seems to me the northward widening should begin at Gilead Road/Exit 23 and probably even before that.
I thought Dave’s Hot Chicken was terrible. Not at all what hot chicken is supposed to be.
Bo’s in most of the new states is eschewing bone-in chicken and many of the southern sides. It’s just another tender place. I think they’ll struggle to differentiate themselves but we’ll see I guess.
These days I prefer Super Chix or Slim Chickens for all of my fried chicken chain restaurant needs. They’re both better than CfA, Cane’s, Zaxby’s.
It doesn’t really say free lanes. Are they going to add a lane to the express lanes? That’s where it drops down to 1 lane I believe.
My recollection of the contract was that they were not allowed to add more free lanes along the express lane route during the initial 50 year contract.
Bone in chicken is the 4 door sedan of fast food. Going to be phased out everywhere in favor of what’s popular (sammiches and tendies). Not celebrating it, but it seems as inevitable as Ford only making trucks and SUVs now.
I was an extra in a made for TV movie (that never made it to TV) and some scenes were shot at this diner when it was located near the AvidXchange Music Factory. Between takes, Naomi Judd actually spoke to me! Here’s the movie. An Evergreen Christmas - Wikipedia
