The fact the Hornets are pushing this makes me think there is fire to the online smoke that the Lakers had buyers remorse after the NBA community generally felt they lost the trade.
Hornets execs also do not want to be seen as someone who will try and unload / sneak damaged goods on you in a trade. Not a lot of GMs will deal with you in good faith in the future.
Agreed.
And look at the guys numbers this year. Not the numbers of a player that is damaged goods.
The lakers may have cost him a lot of money in the future by pulling this.
Interesting how ESPN posted this but not the final score!
Of course, Schwartz is a little biased here.
Hmmā¦
28 regular games left. Next to last in the Eastern conference. Lottery pick assured barring an unthinkable end of season run. Generational player just up I-85/I-40 in Durham.
Wonāt happen, we will get the third pick, draft a euro guy and trade him the same night.
If we get third pick, then itās probably one of a couple of players at Rutgers - 6-9 Ace Bailey or 6-6 Dylan Harper. Either fine with me and should start from day one.
If the Hornets donāt get Cooper Flagg itās pointless. Not saying the guys Run mentioned are bad, but this franchise desperately needs a generational player like Flagg.
After what the Lakers did to the Hornets and nothing happened, the NBA doesnāt care about small market teams and the Hornets havenāt shown they care about winning in 30 years⦠the āping pong ballsā are riggedā¦
I firmly believe the ping pong balls have been rigged for as long as the lottery has existed.
Definitely want Flagg but this is a loaded draft. Only way Buzz donāt end up with a good pick is sheer stupidity or extreme bad luck.
The blunt truth is that the franchise needs the name Cooper Flagg. Just being a good player isnāt enough.
Yep, if Flagg hadnāt reclassified, weād be talking about the Rutgers duo. Pretty wild how that turned out to be a disaster for the Scarlet Knights though not affecting the draft status for either Bailey or Harper.
The Lakers screwed Mark Williams. Heās now tainted as damaged goods and his agent is doing his job to dispel that.
The Lakers should be fined.
If Flagg is available you have to take him. But at the same time I donāt think the pick is as ideal as people are making it. There is some overlap with him and Miller. There are questionmarks of white guys translating to the NBA. Is he going to be Adam Morrison, Gordon Hayward, Doug McDermott, Frank Kaminsky, etc?
As is typical Hornet luck, if they do win the lottery, I would rather have gotten Wemby, Banchero or AE.
Buzz beat the Lakers in LA then lose to Portland by a franchise tying 53 pts and then to Sacramento by 42. Ugh!
The race for Flagg is on.
