Charlotte Hornets šŸ

I like the idea of Sam Cassell. Probably just because I liked him as a player so not sure that translates to coaching. But yeah i agree most of the retreads they are talking about sound worse than Borrego. I would take Frank Vogel over D’antoni or Atkinson.

D’Antoni

Have to admit that I’m not as familiar with the younger of the D’Antoni brothers but from what I gather, playing defense isn’t a priority for either one!

Please no Dantoni.

I prefer Atkinson but Vogel would also be a great hire. What a joke he got fired by the lakers. Like it was his fault they brought in Westbrook and screwed their team up and they had so many injuries.

I am not a fan

Lutz!!!

Dantoni should do wonders for the defense

I just don’t understand what they are doing. If they hire him I hope it doesn’t disrupt the progress they have made the last few years.

That’s a lot to give up & still not have a starting caliber center. Saw a similar article a while back sending Gordon back to the Jazz for Rudy Gobert. That would be a great move but would probably require a lot of draft capital too.

clt will support the hornets again once Jordan leaves. We need a real owner ,

That would be a total BS move.

MJ is a total donkey. He’s like Tommy Boy. Reminds me of that scene in Tommy Boy where Richard said to Tommy ā€œHey, I’m big Tom’s son, he’ll fix everything, so I’m allowed to be a moron.ā€

But for MJ it’s more like ā€œHey, I’m one of dem Tar Heels, so I’m allowed to always be a moron and get away with it.ā€

If you have the money to buy the team, no one asks if you are smart. As long as fans keep paying for a lousy product, Jordan does not give a shit. Hard to say who are the morons.

I dont care for MJ, but a "lousy product "? Really?

Jordan gives too much of a shit. That’s the problem. Things had been going pretty well with Kupchak making the decisions. Apparently Jordan made the call to fire Borrego. Now they don’t seem to have a plan to find anyone better. Seems like he made a knee jerk reaction after getting embarrassed 2 years in a row in the play in game.

Honestly it seems that it’s mostly been being terrible in the draft. I’m unsure how much of that to put on Jordan. Until you have a bonafide star, it’s difficult to lure big name FA’s to Charlotte. Look at the struggles Dallas has had doing that.

Many of the most succesful franchises make their success with talent evaluation. Look at Boston, Golden State and Miami. San Antonio had a great run too. GS is the clear leader in this category. They drafted Poole at 28. He appears to be better than most, if not all, of the top 15 picks the Hornets have made. In fact, a lot of 2021 mock drafts had GS taking Bouknight at 7, but they took Kuminga instead.
