Ultimately it all falls back on Hillās stubbornness to keep Sanchez around. Hill continuing to believe in Sanchez - when it was crystal clear to everyone outside of that building that he had no chance to do anything of substance here - was pure lunacy.
It starts at the top. Yes, Sanchez definitely deserves a ton of blame for bailing when he did, he should never be a head coach again. Butā¦this couldāve been avoided if Hill cut bait when he shouldāve.
Good luck to Fearne - it wasnāt an accident that they used that quote in the press release about playing with pace. Getting 13 wins out of this roster would be a miracle.
Hillās seat should be on fire. Heās 0-for-2 on the revenue sport hires. He better hopes Poggi or the bball hire hits or he will be gone. Itās nice that the other sports are succeeding - but in order for this program to take the next leap - especially in a major city - winning in the revenue sports is non-negotiable. Get people that can do it or get out.
Good for the Coach. He will need all the players can give him. Sanchez was terrible, but I expect the general situation to deteriorate. I expect posts about embarrassing blow outs more do than losses from Sanchezās bad coaching concepts. Who knows, some people have what it takes to engineer wins, and maybe Coach can. I did a bit of research out of Australia. Fearne coached the NBL pro team for nine years as head coach. He played there and was an assistant as well. He is known for his player development. Of the 11 Australian players that have made it to the NBA, Fearne develeloprd two of them. As coach of one of the lower budget pro teams, Fearne got to the plsyoffs three times and to the grand finals twice.
No, this is the correct move. Was always going to be tough to convince a quality guy to come in with our roster and zero chance to recruit to improve it due to missing the recruiting cycle and the portal.
Save the money for a year, hope for the best and start thinking about 2024 today. Maybe Fearne works out and gets a bag, I sure hope so. I personally will be back in the gym after not caring for a while. I think this is the best thing that could happen at this point. Really not a fan at all at how these last few weeks have transpired but I wanna support the coaches and players that have stuck with us despite Ron ditching them at a terrible time. Hope they crush it this year and we go into the next season getting the coach that will be best for us
This is definitely the best option. Just wish we had done it from the beginning, although then we probably would have complained about not trying to run a search for a new coach. I mean did we really want a coach who was willing to leave his team in the middle of June. What kind of asshole does that.
