I donāt give a s*** what SoCon FANS think. I do care how the CAA or even CUSA view a no vote from the SoCon though! Iād have rather we didnāt make a presentation to them at all if there wasnāt a yes vote already in hand.
Sidenote: We should see something about this in the GoldMine soon.
If the SoCon votes no, then so be it. Itās obvious that they would prefer us as a full member, not just for football, so a rejection isnāt disrespectful, itās more about them protecting their conference.
As for App fans, they are all nervous about the impact a program in Charlotte is going to have on them. Once we are up and running and start to land recruits that would have in the past looked at App, it could hurt them in the short term. Iām not saying we are going to steal all of their top recruits, but we give players from Wester NC/SC and Eastern Tenn another option to consider and be close to home.

I donāt get the whole argument that adding football-only Charlotte somehow hurts these FCS conferences. They lose nothing as far as I can tell except maybe some scheduling quirks. Now individual schools like App might have issues with us for obvious reasons, but I canāt see where the majority of either the SoCon or CAA would have anything but benefit from a large public FCS program in a major city/tv market near the center of their market footprints.

Iām glad coach L will have a say in how this eventually plays out. Iām sure heās done some homework on this and the best decision/option possible/available will be made.
Hasnāt Georgia Southern said that theyāre gonna move up as soon as they get the chance? App will leave also if they get a good offer. The SoCon would be foolish to pass us up.
Georgia Southern did a study a few years ago but didnāt pull the trigger. Now thereās some concerns their facilities have fallen off too much (sadly this study was just a few years ago, football arms race is outrageous) to make a move to a conference they want (read CUSA or better) so theyāre trying to get some upgrades going soonā¦thenā¦
I found the most pathetic App St fan ever.[/quote]
App acts like they are Godās gift to footballā¦I need to only make 3 points I would say to an App fan.
Remember back before you won that first national? Yea, App Stateās campus life sucked, and gameday sucked
You won 3 titles, Georgia Southern has 6, when you get to 6 100 years from now, come talk to me
You say we have no support for football? Umm take a look at your attendance for playoff games, enough said
