a couple of other thoughts. i feel bad for phil. he is maybe the one guy who should not be embarrased with his play in this game and this season. he has improved in every way. we should have looked for him on every possession and we dont. one bright spot, next year we dont have to worry about how we are going to replace mack and coley. i think coleman will be really good next year when he gets some inside and outside help. he plays hard and is active around the rim.
That was ugly but I wasnāt really surprised at all with the lopsided result. I knew their matchup zone would absolutely kill us because we havenāt been hitting from outside at all this year and we donāt have a zone-killing penetrator thanks to Gerrityās transfer.
That said Iām not yet in full on panic mode. We play again tomorrow and I like our chances a bit better regardless of who we play.
Hopefully we can turn it around and have a year like Temple last year.
We did virtually nothing right in this game. My dad and I were laughing by the end... what else can you do when the team looks so utterly incompetent?
I did the same thing. I didnāt make my family watch most of the game because it was so embarrassing. I think I laughed out loud when big Phil passed the ball into the stands. There was the play where Dew passed it right out of bounds. Another where Dew dribbled off of his foot. Iām a big Dew supporter but this one he was really bad. I canāt just blame him though. Everybody was bad tonight. Aside from Coleman at times.
After the first few possessions I knew we were going to have trouble scoring on this team. We had a lot of chances around the rim that we just didnāt finish, plain and simple. Thatās been a theme.

I donāt know. Phil was in foul trouble and didnāt get a lot of minutes as a result. But that Pendergraph dude lit him (and Gaby) up. He looked like he could score at ease. I think he went something like 8 for 12. I wish we could get a post player like that.
Its been a rough season but lets drum up some excuses! Losses they explain in parentheses.
Any one else have good excuses? (Other than that our āprogramā is an embarrassment right now and our players looked like high schoolers tonight)

Weāre doing a lot of things bad right now. But I agree, shooting below 30% is horrible.

Well, before the game STARTED I knew we were going to have trouble scoring. What did we lose by 28?
I have gone into not caring mode. Donāt see how we can dig out of this hole. It is embarrassing to watch or even think about. Iām glad I couldnāt see the game.
By the way, I found it interesting that ESPN showed the WFU game, then went to the Gonzaga game, then back to Anaheim for the Baylor game. Donāt get me wrong I didnāt want to watch, but here in Forsyth County I get to see WFU, then teams from the WEST, then a team from Texas. We are so bad ESPN does not want to show us.
What do we have to look forward to this year? I knowā¦the āwhen will we win againā watch. Awesome.

Its not the reason we lost but probably the reason for the ass wooping⦠the officiating was terrible. These guys played really dirty⦠lots of pushing and shoving and if we played that back we got called for it. Several 3ās we shot we were fouled. One in particular was the 3 point at the buzzer at the end of the first half.
Harris did an amazing job⦠Dewhust turns the ball over wayy to much.
Phil Jones was a beast! He took a beating though with the dirty play down low.
As bad as it looked were not that bad of a team. Given all the foul calls and the off balance in that department prevented us from controlling the tempo of the game. We had a nice run in the second half and when we played our style and our speed we were kickān their ass.
We played very intense however our offense never would set any screens and so we just passed the ball around the outside⦠the few times they got it down to phil jones he came through.
Very disapointed in the niner fans that were there. Several times I tried to get a forty ⦠niner chant going even shouting back out the crowed to get there attention. No one would echo āninersā not even Dan Debos⦠He just looked at me and kind of shook his head One older lady cheered though the entire game⦠Props to her!

The only problem is we have said that for a couple of years in row now. I am personally tired of waiting for this ānext yearā we have been waiting on.

I think X beat us by about 40 2 years ago. Thats the thing about Lutz he can get you a big blowout with that offense(yeah right) he runs.
Lutz should subsidize Goldwire with some income for the next 5 years for getting him that extension last year.
I have never seen a poorer job of an offensive gameplan for a zone defense than we run. I never saw one pass attempt into the middle or the post of the zone the whole game. Not one!
Phil Jones should transfer before it is too late.
I hope Spears can shoot the three.
All the people that keep saying that Dewhurst will be special when it all clicks please explain? Besides the reverse layup I see nothing to his game but indecisiveness. If someone does change my mind about Dew you do realize he will be ruined before Lutz gets thru with him.
Does anyone else get tired of the announcers trying to be politially correct with us about how bad our offense sets suck. I say we get B. Knight to announce one of our games āunpluggedā. It would be a riot.
At what point (and for how long) do you think Sendek had a h*rd on after he saw we/Lutz were on the schedule.
I honestly can not see more than 12 wins on our schedule if Lutz does not lose this team before that.
