There’s a typo on the Miami-FL game - it’s November 29th:

Unlike MBB, no non-D-I foes.

See that Niners WBB will play 56% of the Big South. Definitely an anchor on the NET, even with 2024 conference tournament champs Presbyterian included. Blue Hose were β€œrewarded” with an NCAAT matchup at South Carolina and as expected, it wasn’t pretty!

What is so interesting about the Womens website is that when you look at the schedule, on the right side, if they have play before there is a History link on the right for you to click on and see. I learned that the Davidson game is rivalry for the 704 Cup, that is a nice feature to have, and it’s the first one I have seen while looking at teams websites. Check it out for yourselves if interested, I think it’s Cool!

I had to look at the Mens schedule to get the context about the conversations being had, it’s problaly a lot of it on the mens page. I figure that the Wake Forrest game was a home & home, not real sure how far some of these things are scheduled, I know sometimes you have to do it a whole year in advance to secure something for next season. I didn’t know that the Presbyterian coach went to Appalachian State after the season. I looked on their site and was like this isn’t the same coach I saw last year when they play South Carolina twice. So they have a new coach, it wont be the same team or system from last year. Mercer has a new coach, i’m familiar with her from Western Kentucky and Cincinnati, before last year at Ole Miss for a season. Miami also has a new coach, I did watch her press conference after seeing they were playing. She kept the Associate Head Coach, who filled in last year, she brought her associate head coach from Toledo with her, so she has two associate head coaches. One thing that was interesting in listening to coach Cullop talk, someone asked if she was bringing any of her players from Toledo with her. Her response was really interesting to me, she recommended that they stay and give the new staff a try. I took that to mean that she needed more Athleticism, higher ranked players, because she politely in talking said that they weren’t good enough to cut it at Miami.

You all can give it a watch for yourself on youtube like I did, but I just found that to be fascinating. I brought up the new coaches from teams on the schedule because all teams are in similar position, I do believe Coach Reed was the last one to be hired, but other then that, seeing how those games go will be of interest for that fact alone. They gave coach Tiffany Sardin high regard at Presbyterian, so it seems they will continue to be coached good. I know Coaches Michelle Clark-Heard, and Tricia Cullop are successful and good coaches. So I expect them all to be quality opponents, who knows how all the teams are going to look until they start playing, but something else interesting on the Womens side.

Ohio St has a 6-9 FR I saw on the roster, and a Soph who is 6-5 If I remember correctly. How do you all figure the top Non Conference and Conference Teams to be. I know Coach Simmons at Memphis will be in her second year, interesting fact, she has one of Coach Reed’s Guards from last year who I thought was coming here. I think she was in the portal on her way to New Mexico St, not sure what happened there, but she was a top scorer last season. So that is interesting, I wonder how UCF and USF will do this year? Is anyone shooting for the Stars with expectations? Are you just going to let the season play out and see how coach Reed does in year one?

I wonder if the team will have her desired speed of play down by the first game? So many questions, but it’s all apart of what makes a season exciting, it’s all the questions before, and the answers you get during the season.

Nice message. Thanks! :+1:

Recently retired and longtime Miami coach Katie Meier was Charlotte HC 2001-05 prior to landing in Coral Gables and the ACC. She was 76-45 with the Niners, including one C-USA championship and NCAAT in 2003, as well as a couple of WNIT invites.

Ohio State coach coached against us in the A-10. He was Xavier then. Word is he’s a real prick.

Asia Durr!! I’m from Ga, so you all may not realize that she was Amazing! A True winner indeed, you need really Good people on your staff.

That is one thing I don’t think a lot of people noticed about Dawn Staley, she was never too proud to have Good people on her staff. Remember when they won their first Title in 2017? She added Melanie Balcomb to her staff who had retired from Vanderbilt in the offseason. She created a role for her on staff, that is also why you need the administration to support you, because they made it happen within the rules.

While it was only for that season, it got the results desired. The year before that she lost one of her assistant coaches in Darius Taylor, who had Married the New Georgia Coach in Joni Taylor, that is when Fred Chmiel came back on to her staff. When Fred Chmiel left before last season to be the Head Coach at Bowling Green, she had to find a replacement. She got Winston Gandy from Duke, it’s a business at the end of the day, but you know it wasn’t easy for Dawn to take someone from Kara Lawson’s staff, they are all friends, but it was business.

You can’t be afraid of having Good people on your staff, they are needed, and those with too big of Ego’s are the ones who will suffer because they don’t want to share the accolades! I just wanted you all to know that Asia Durr will do an Amazing Job, one of Ga’s best.

Who normally looks forward to the Women’s Media Day events? I know I will be looking forward it to hear what Coach Reed and the other coaches in the AAC Women’s Media Day have to say. I saw the SWAC Womens Media Day two weeks ago, Big Ten Women’s Media Day was Yesterday, so it’s interesting to hear and see all of the different coaches thoughts on the upcoming season. And hearing from the players about the upcoming season.
