Now that is a good starting point, it’s how it was at South Carolina for Dawn Staley, I don’t know the timeline for there ticket prices, but I think they still have plenty of affordable ones. What about the press box ticket prices, are they nice if anyone knows?

So far as I know, we don’t have press box tickets

Is that the same thing as the VIP Club and/or Colonial Life Arena suites?

They would be the suites you see in arenas is what I was talking about. I thought most schools had them, except for the smaller schools. I know people really love court side seats, so I may be an outlier for wanting to see it from a comfortable suite, lol!

Sunday! It’s Sunday! Lol, I was looking for this ALL Week! Is Sunday normal for the AAC? I know this is only your second year being in the conference. I know the ACC was in Charlotte this week, and have been watching some interviews.

Does anyone remember those Dodge Ram Truck commercials where the guy was like Sunday Sunday on a Megaphone, lol, they were funny. He was a passenger in it, and when they pulled up on different people he would start talking about the Hemi engine in the Ram. It’s and old commercial now, maybe close to 20 years or more now, but that’s what I was thinking saying Sunday, Sunday!

This is interesting, but it also is a point about unknowns in the conference mainly. With most of the coaches not knowing about Coach Reed I suspect besides a few. I’m not sure how many teams added transfers, I know a lot of teams added brand new rosters.

South Florida has been the main team going to the tournament from here through the years, and Coach Reed is looking to replace them, or give the AAC another spot!

So in looking at this list, for those who followed the teams last year, how do you all feel about how Charlotte is ranked?

I’m going to listen for all of the interviews Sunday to learn more about the other coaches, I know a few of them, and see how they all see this season for there team.

I wonder how better Charlotte has gotten with Coach Reed’s pace of play before they left for there European Tour? It was an interview on the local news station, and she said that they were playing way slower than she wanted.

I know some of you all have been to some practices and said you liked that the coaches were teaching them things. I know all coaches have different styles and philosophies. Has anyone been recently since adding Asia Durr to the staff?

So far Coach Reed has kept her word and has been reaching out to different sections at Charlotte, because I saw them with the Marching Band during practice this week. That was one thing that stood out to me at her press conference when a member of the cheerleader asked her a question, and she told him to make sure they get each others contact information because she wants all at Charlotte involved.

I was just focusing on that, at least you all have hired someone who is trying to build up support for her program. Matter of fact, has anyone ever shared this forum with the official Charlotte Media Accounts? It could be a good way to get others who are interested in talking about Women’s Basketball on here, like on the other boards. Who ever is in charge here, that could be good promotion to bring in more traffic.

As noted, with this being the Niners second season in AAC, not sure if Sunday is a new thing or not. Last year was held on a Monday, so a two day event is different, as is the invitation for fans to attend.

Anyway, finished 9th in AAC last year, so with new coach etc, 11th probably about right for preseason.

I’m watching the others from the Media Day yesterday, for those that don’t have espn + like me, you can see it in the link below. I will watch Charlotte last. I have seen Memphis, UTSA,USF on there own channel yesterday, Tulane, and North Texas. I paused the FAU to come and post here. The Head Coach at North Texas is in his second year there, he also has a record of success. I don’t know about all of the previous coaches, I learned about Lisa Stockton who retired at Tulane with a very long career.

I’m most familiar with the SEC, and keep track of a few teams in the ACC. The AAC has some really good coaches now. Some established veterans like Jose Hernandez at USF, I didn’t know this is his 25 season there. Younger up and comers like Ashley Langford at Tulane, who played under coach Stockton, an alumni there also, no wonder she got the job over Coach Reed. It’s the known vs unknown, and by that alumni and not one, is it right or wrong, it happens everywhere.

I think the quality of the coaching is better, or will be better because they are going to compete. Like I said I didn’t know any of the former coaches other than looking at records if I did. I don’t say what I said above to be disrespectful to any previous coach at all, I just wanted that to be known.

With the way NIL has changed, and will continue to change the landscape for the Student Athletes, this conference is going to be one to pay attention to. There were a lot of Great Coaches where Coach Reed came from in the SWAC. Coach Aston said that that they should have gotten another bid last year, and that Tulsa deserved that opportunity, and that the teams in conference has to win the non conference games to show that and get more points.

It’s a good way to learn about others and how they see things, so far these interviews have been good. I will post the link for Charlotte, and that channel has the rest of them if you wish to see others from the conference. They also did the ACC last week, I was doing the ASUN currently.

Im watching the SEC Media Day coach interviews, and I see that Dazia Lawrence went and was interviewed. I don’t think I noticed that one of the coaches who was on Cara’s staff as a coach, is now the director of recruiting operations & assistant coach for kentucky. Listen to her own words how she ended up at kentucky, I can see why she was good at Charlotte from listening to her.

Thank you for posting this, as I would have no idea about the dinner otherwise. I’ve met the staff and they seem to be very good people.

Interesting to hear a perspective of the UK glass court. I think its unnecessary and ridiculous.

Thanks! Dazia is a good interview. Wish the Niner alum all the best after stellar college and high school stints in the QC!
