The scary thing is it doesn’t appear that we have been aiming for immediate impact players and we still haven’t landed anyone. I know all of them didn’t work out great but it’s been a fast drop off from getting Trapp, Braswell, Musa and Butler a couple of years ago. That appeared to be a great class of experienced transfers. Doesn’t look like we have even been in contact with anyone like those guys during this cycle.
clt says the boring offense and likelihood of ron leaving isn’t going to help recruiting
we have lots of positives but this is going to be a tough winter in mbb
The Davidson game could get real ugly. I was just getting used to beating Davidson again and now this. Damn.
We lost to Davidson in the offseason? Damn Ron!
It’s hilarious to me that everyone tries to make hay over message board comments but no one seems to think the players themselves talk at all. I bet word has gotten around that sanchez is not a fun guy to play for. Optically, I’m shying away from a guy who lost his best two player including a legacy even if I don’t have inside info, but if I can get the word on the street to stay away, maybe I am as even a mediocre contributor.
Great city, decent facilities, but it’s hard to imagine wanting to play for Ron as demanding as he is and so willing to throw players under the bus.
You better believe players talk to each other. And all these damn handlers now are earpieces as well
Not just handlers.
Families too.
The word is out on this guy.
Do we have sources for that? I’m not a fan of Ron basketball but I’m also not trying to drag him because kids are getting money we don’t have to play elsewhere.
I’d go out on a limb and be willing to bet it a combination of the two.
A guy in the discord that was a Basketball team manager (not this year but I think up until last year or the year before) said when he ran into some of the players out on the town one night they talked about the season and “they might like Ron less than we do”. He did not specify which players however.
You can tell by the body language that the team didn’t look to be having fun.
The only source we need is the fact that we have not signed anyone yet.
If he pulls a rabbit out of the hat I will be right back hear to say I’m wrong and eat crow.
If he takes us to the NCAAs next year same thing.
That’s a real interesting question.
If Sanchez takes us to the NCAA tournament next year does he get an extension? Or does he have enough time on his contract he can be asked to prove it again the following year.
Or do we just hope he gets hired away?
Just a reminder that we have signed Nick Richart.
Meanwhile, back at the transfer portal wasteland:
He signed before this season turned miserable and two stars vacated.
