It ain’t happening, just like it didn’t happen last season.
No. We will be happy. He wont have a good season though, unless you and hill both dedine a good season the same way
I don’t want us to fail at all. Quite the opposite. But unless we land a dynamic instant impact wing scorer, I just don’t see it. Just being realistic. I think we have a team full of role players and no stars.
Given the number of layups we gave up at the rim last year, I am excited about a rim protector coming here. He should Lao be a huge plus on the rebounding front.
Love Aly but he got beat on pick and rolls a lot because he wasn’t athletic enough to stop the roll.
Aly was slow and got beat in the post on both ends of the ball guards at a high frequency. A good rim protector and bruiser could be the spark we need.
Everyone keeps overlooking
The fact we have Rolf as a potential scorer to replace Williams. He averaged 17 1/2 points a game and shot over 50% from three port range in high school.
Lots of people playing pick up at the Y did too
With all the injuries we had last year, I figure if he was good enough to play, Ron probably would have. Braswell and Jallow went down ahead of him and he still didn’t play.
Just like picking up Jahmir’s scoring was not done by a single person, expect the same next year with Brice and Aly’s scoring.
Jahmir’s scoring was replaced by Brice coming back from injury more than anything else.
This year…we’re losing 2…and no one remotely close to their talent level coming in from anywhere (freshman, transfer or injury)
Not the same circumstance by a loooooooong shot.
Yes, but you’re talking about Ron here.
Aly also was critical in the offense working. We aren’t going to find a passer like him.
I know rankings don’t always mean everything but Brice was a 3 star recruit and Rolf had 0 stars. There’s probably a difference. I hope he surprises me but it would be a huge leap for him to come in and replace Brice’s scoring.
So, we’ve lost about 26 or 28 ppg and brought in about 6 or so. Go us!!!
The negativity on this board never ceases to amaze me.
Wait! There’s more!
If I remember correctly before Aly, Bamba was center for a season or two. He was the exact opposite of Aly. He played solid defense and basically only scored on offense when he was left completely open. Our team did pretty well with him at center. Maybe we will operate more similarly to that year this year.
