The Jag rebranding was about as dumb as possible. Absolutely astounding to take a brand with the history they have and basically do a 180.

Ummm… They went with that faux Land Rover styling like the Santa Fe.
My $.02 - say bye bye to the “sell-u-ride” . Looks cheap. And that paint color isn’t helping any.

That’s been the approach of Kia/Hyundai for a while, to copy another design. The original Telluride was said to be a take off of the Volvo XC90. I’m honestly surprised they’ve been able to do it for as long as they have and not be sued.
Having said that, I don’t see the new design itself killing the Telluride momentum. Price will still be what defines them. If they make a solid vehicle that resembles a Range Rover, but for 30-40k less, plus if it’s still slighly cheaper than a comparable Toyota, they’ll sell a ton.
Many older Rednecks I was around when young actually loved those wagons. It was like an ideal SUV for them, where Sport meant hauling ass around old country roads while still hauling asses and gear. Also, you could put the annoying kids very far away in the back seat. Sometimes the rear seat faced backwards, which entertained and quieted kids
A few years ago out at the speedway auto show there was a guy with a stunning vista cruiser for sale - caught myself thinking hmmmmmmm
Then I remembered if I came home with another vehicle my wife would kill me.
