Clt’s week 2 chat page. Black out game for Charlotte!

With the new bridge it is easier to walk to the University Lake area from campus. There are many nice options near the lake area for food or drinks.

Not on our campus a couple of miles from campus…and so did state.

The difference being App fans would worship it. We took the one near campus down and inspired NC State to do the same. There’s no rubbing it in the face of App fans, so there’s no need to put one up there. They’re already on board with UNC-CH hoops.

One person’s opinion on the App football experience.

Highest rated of the Great5 schools.

Sometimes it is not about the population and alumni numbers, but just having supportive fans and the view isn’t bad either.

Hopefully some of you make the trip up the mountain in 2019.

This really sums up this ‘history’ of Appalachian and it’s great program and fan base. First line from the article:

“If you were aware of the Appalachian State football team before the 2007 season, you are either a liar or a Boone, North Carolina, resident.”

haha NC

Boone has become more of a tourist town than a college town if anything. Lots of Florida up that way now.

I knew I would get a quick snide remark, which is fine. You took time to read it it seems.

That can be said for 90% or more of the schools including plenty of Prig5 schools. He still appreciates our game day experience at the present and given how hard it is for any non Prig5 “worshipped by ESPN” school to get much any recognition I’ll take this as a compliment to be the best of the Great5 schools in overall experience on a football Saturday.

No one cares about that article. I hate to break it to you.

We do have some of that and I don’t mind the Floridians spending dollars in this state and that area of the state. Most of that is not in Boone directly, sure this is some, but more in the Blowing Rock area and other areas. Also during the major part of the school year the Floridians move to warmer climes. If they stayed year-round it would be correct to call them North Carolinians as they are not living in Florida at that point.

I don’t mind sharing Boone, it is not mine to own. There is some friction around the growth that does occur but Boone still has a nice college town feel.

This is the thread about the Charlotte-App game. I don’t mind learning about Charlotte, and have posed some questions myself.

For those that want to learn about App and what others think about App then it is worth a click, and if not then no one is being forced to click the link.

I would hope some of your fans would post some things like this for Charlotte. I assume somewhere on the internet Charlotte is mentioned on websites such as this App article.

clt says you probably should not use a pic with computer renderings of how your stadium MAY look when trying to impress us. We have nice pics of a 45,000 seat rich.

How dare you all! Have you not seem App states stadium expansion plans? They have the best fanbase in the UNIVERSE!!!one!1omglol1!!1

clt says that is the post of the year.

McAppFan says that was the article and not McAppfan himself dealing with the rendering of the future KBS. McAppfan agrees that the author should have used a current picture. The content of the article, both pro and cons were the meat of the article. McAppFan would also have appreciated a view from the stadium and not the flyover picture, though that is Boone in all its glory when the sun is low is the sky.

The coordination it took for each person to have the same clothes and hairstyle and color of hair in each corresponding seat for each level was the type of work that only an App grad could pull off. It took programming an extensive relational database of all fans and seating assignments. Many variables at play such as body weight, body height, eye color, hair color, shoe size, perferred height above ground. Skin tone alone used 30 choices. The data entry, since only needing the most basic of skills, was outsourced to UNCC students. After cleaning up all the data entry mistakes by said students it worked fairly well.

Here is a wikipedia page on how it was all coordinated.

Start losing (and you will very soon), and app football will be a distant memory. Boone will just be the boon dock it is, overrun with Floridiots with money, and articles like this will be forever ignoring your little berg with the once “great” football team and fans.

I like how it still has the track through all those expansions

(Yes app fans, I’m aqare the track is being / has been removed.)

App is 16th by winning percentage all time among FBS teams. (Out of 130 schools that is not bad.)

We are top 90 at least in overall wins among NCAA programs in all three divisions. (Out of 674 programs) That is about the same ratio as the above stat.

We have had a few down years here and there and a few extended years here and there that lasted 2 or 3 years. But the reality is the App has a long history of winning and our dry spells have been very short and rather infrequent.

Yes, a long dry spell may happen, but given our past that is doubtful as it has not happened yet, and to suggest that will happen very soon is something I suggest you not place a bet on.

We have developed a recruiting system that seems to be reloading and not rebuilding and given the winning we have done I think getting a new coach that can continue to win is very possible. Sure a bad hire can happen but it has been at least 35 years since I would say that has happened in football for App.

Looking into the future I am not worried about App football.
