In would think UNCG UNCC and ECU all would lead the way given their locations in the Black Belt and have a large number of 1st generation collegestudents as well. I can’t speak for other HBCU campuses but I thought A&T, though still majority minority campus was picking you up a few more students that would self.
UNC-P is in the middle of not much but pulls in native Americans, Af-am students and I have had a few Caucasian students attend. Of they were not the most
diverse I would be very surprised. I mostly know the UNCP campus through their Physics professors but they really impress me. Their students do a lot of research and give poster talks at state level meetings in large numbers and in general they do a lot with fewer resources.
After a dreadfully long 2 minutes of research, I found photographic evidence that McLeansvilleAppFan and BigDave do in fact exists and are friends IRL!
McApp says the only folks mocking App over a really old video are not going to be prospective students and anyone that may be a prospective student and would let an old internal use video dissuade them from attending App does not deserve App. There are way more applicants than space at App so we are turning many away. Incoming freshman have a higher average SAT/ACT score most UNC system schools. Freshman retention is above system average.
Internally there have been plenty said about it and no e was good.
TL;DR For anyone that is important to App the video is not important to them. Mountaineers are not that shallow.
I have addressed the fact I wish App was more diverse. There are multiple reasons for this, but to imply some level of racism exists on an organized level at App is absurd. I know this is a message board and everyone is having a bit of fun, but really.
Y’all addressing the heroin problem in Boone yet or is that just another thing you ignore? Like App State basketball. Before you chastise me, you might take a moment to Google it.
Herion is everywhere, sadly, and based on what I have read, more so in rural areas.
I am not aware of any special program App has to address this problem beyond the normal programs that most any public university does with outreach to the public. This is an issue that all public institutions should be a part of, but also something that needs to be lead, in my view, from local Boards of Health and local social service agencies with lots of funding from state and national levels.
