Made it to the App game this year and was trying to find another game to take the family to this year. After reading this thread I think Iâll pass. Ticket scanners wonât work but if we do get in we will get cussed out, die of heat exhaustion and the team will perform poorly. No thanks.
Luckily if the scanners dont work they will still let you in, and the heat is bound to subside by the time the next game rolls around. No promises about the performance, though!

In reality it is easy to get into the stadium, it wonât be hot the rest of the season, there isnât a bad seat in the stadium, most of the fans very pleasant, good quality concessions, nice craft beer selection, short lines to the restroom, and the team plays hard.

I marinated on this for a while this morning, and honestly, I do feel better about last saturday, so Iâll commence the sunshine pumping.
- FAU may very well be the best team in CUSA
- It was a really close game until their depth overwhelmed us
- This roster is absolutely not designed to play from behind, and thatâs what we had to do all day Saturday. We have to start better on both sides of the ball. Scoring on Drive 1 needs to be a priority A, and preventing the other team from scoring on Drive 1 needs to be Priority 1. We canât throw the ball all over the yard and play catchup. We need to keep it on the ground and milk the clock. Defensively, we need to force the other team into passing situations, get after the QB and create turnovers. Itâs hard to do either of those things playing from behind.
We will be fine. Bowl is still well within reach.

Adding to what Clayton wrote, we were not getting killed.
We didnât give Cruz and opportunity to kick a 58 yarder in the first, Reynolds first into was in FG range and we were driving with a to before the int before half. Assuming 2 of these three hypothetical FGâs are good, we go into half 24-20.
We hold our ground on the fourth down and it could have been better.
We simply couldnât get off the field on third down and that killed us.
We gave Lemay 7 touches in the first half. Four in the 2nd. Stacking the box against Benny is nothing new and I feel he wasnât utilized.
Iâm assuming Elder was a little banged up as he wasnât out there after the first quarter.
Depth is a huge issue. If we canât get our Oline right, we wonât win again. We are still talent deficient against everyone we play except UTEPâŚand this concerns me.
The o-line was very concerning. After giving Benny some running room vs Clemson I was excited that weâd be able to move the ball on anyone.
Our first 2 series on Saturday, our o-line was manhandled and we could barely get the ball snapped into Reynoldsâ hands. Of course we come out of the gate trying to pass the ball instead of letting Benny set the tone on the ground, but play calling is a separate issue. I donât care how many they put in the box, we have to be able to run the ball.
Memories can be selective. I remember us being behind 14-0 almost immediately and being dominated in both lines.
Injuries/depth continue to be an issue, as well (particularly at center). Thatâs always a contributing factor.

Yep, this o-line is lost without Fisher at center. There had to be at least 4 or 5 high snaps, and the backup centers were blown by over and over.
First three drives Oline and bad snaps resulted in 3 and outs across the board. First int resulted in a 3 and out by FAU at their 10, 1 minute off clock, kicked to us at the 50, 2 plays later we scored a TD. Thereby mooting that pick. Canât count that âpotential fgâ without negating our own td as well.
At the end of the half, they scored a td and gave us the ball with 25 seconds left and I believe it was a good play that put us in 56 yard range w 20 seconds left. Then came the int, which was forced and obviously trying to will the team to a td. You miss the chance at a long fg (you can say potentially 24-17 instead of 14 at half)
We score our first drive of 2nd half. Game is 24-21 with 8 minutes In the third. Essentially were notched up with a quarter and a half to go, after terrible Oline play, poor Defense. Then our D just canât handle anymore and they score consecutively 38-21, and we get a big play called back because of a bad hold (3rd by same
Player in similar situations) and punt, and coach makes the miserable decision of switching QBs and essentially gives the game up in the start of the 4th quarter.
I too believe FAU is the most talented, and now seeing what Ohio State has done to everyone, that loss looks the more impressive. We were essentially tied halfway in the third before falling apart. Stay positive, pump the breaks, let things play out. As Big Willie Style said, positive attracts positive, and I think theres good coming.

I guess this is what I was trying to say. We had been out played and out classed and left some money on the table, but were still in the game.
Think about that for a second - out played, out classed and self imploded and still in the game. Has to make you feel good about direction.
Our defense stinks right now. I am not a fan of the 4-2-5 with the way teams are running and passing against us. It is hard for us to get a stop against a top team and we will not win giving up 45 points.
At no point after the first quarter did I feel we had a chance to win.

I donât think itâs the scheme as much as we donât have the personnel to run it properly yet.
We would have been a better defense this year had we not changed scheme, however I think in the long run, at the g5 level, we are better off running 4/2/5
