Iāma start a poll asking what percentage of our fans are jerks.

I was disappointed Saturday, it would have been huge to get the W there but our problems on D have persisted. We give up way too many big plays especially in the run game. I hate having to hold my breath with every off tackle run because Iām scared it will go to the house. The accumulated injuries have ended any chance for us to be a top CUSA D but if we canāt find a way to at least slow some of these people down weāre in trouble.
I think the tape is out on Reynolds, the last two games have not been his best. The strategy employed by FAU (albeit Spencerās scheme is better than most) will be used against us the remainder of the year. Teams will stack the box and make us make plays through the air. We were effective through the air against App and UMASS but not against FAU (Ball St threw for over 300 against them in a shootout). The turnovers in conjunction with the defensive woes were too much to overcome.
It could have been a massive step forward but we were unable to take it. The season is not lost though, 6 wins and a bowl are still on the table, we are going to have to play better than Saturday though to go bowling. We really need that FIU game now to stay on track.
I hate to hear that any fan had a lousy experience, and I am all for encouraging students to crank up the enthusiasm. There is no excuse for anyone to be screaming the āF bombā in the stands, even if the Cheerleaders donāt have a clue. There are kids everywhere, and I guess I am an OG, but I donāt need to hear it either. The poster above makes some good points, but I am not sure blaming those who have been putting money into the program for years and funded the intial $5 million for the stadium in the first couple of days is accurate or fair. Idiots will be idiots, it doesnāt matter how many games they come to a year.
While we are at it letās define a true OG - the folks that went against Judy and the AD and forced her hand starting football. There is 12-15 of them at first. Everyone else is bandwagon jumpers. Iām ok with that we need the wagon full. Iād have told that to those folks faceā¦

Lol, you contradicted yourself in about 4 posts.
Why? If it wasnt for those folks we wouldnāt have ever reached a critical mass that forced Judy to address the issue. I am not slamming anyone here, just the reality that CFI is what got this ball rolling. Those folks became enemies of the state during that time frame. In some instances the AD attempted to stop CFI people from attending public forums.
CFI was the birth of Charlotte football, not sure it gets more OG than that. From that point we have the students that first got it placed on a ballot and then dorm stormed to get the voters out, alumni who fronted the costs of minifootballs and tshirts, folks that planned the rally, folks that attended the rally, students that literally built goal posts to carry, alumni that went on camera and media outlets to talk up football here, Mac Everett for leading the charge and then Phil and the BOT for voting yes - then we finally get to the FSL holder, the big donors who came in at that point, season ticket holders and single game folks - that finally brings us to where we are. We need everyone one of them and if we are going to grow this thing we will need far more. My only point is when someone says they are OG they typically donāt know what went in to get us a team. Coming to games since game 1 isnt OG, there were a ton of folks who put in a lot of time and money to help get us to the point of kick off in 2013. Judy and company did not exactly share the story of football here - which by the way i think is one of the best stories in college football that no one is telling. So if someone tries to lecture me or I hear them talk down to others about being around since day 1 I would likely ask is that day 1 in 2013 or 2007 and maybe that will stop them from thinking they are someone that can lecture our newer fans.
For the record the students who voted in favor of the increased fee - they are the OGs to me. Without that vote this entire thing dies. Judy has an excuse and it all ends.

I do think that FAU has the best total personnel groups (minus kicker than) that we will see this year other than Clemson. Marshall might have better defense, and NT a better offense, but FAU is more complete.
The offensive line couldnāt get push and I blame a lot of that on injuries.
The DL line struggled too as FAU chipped Highsmith most of the day (which is a great but not original idea).
This is a loss I expected us to take. I hope the next two weeks is spent getting healthy.
Some of yāall might not want to hear this, but Iād wager that FIU will be a five point or more favorite in two weeks.
I have zero issues acknowledging those that formed the CFI and they absolutely deserve to be given the credit for gaining the required momentum and helping build what we have today (and what we will become) on the grid iron.
My comment was more directed to the bandwagon comment. Not to be misunderstood. We absolutely need this city to hop aboard. But I am in no way one of those and itās offensive to me. Not because I look down on those that change teams like its a choice each season. But rather my personal dedication to my school is something I take very serious and I will confidently challenge anyone who questions that. Itās not a choice I makeā¦ itās the life I chose.
Thank you to those members of the CFI, you should be remembered and if you want to be the OGās then that is OK by me - well deserved.

Thank you to all others that may support my university in however you see fit and are able. We need you all and I personally want you to stand up to anyone that questions your loyalty, individually or otherwise.

I certainly wasnāt using bandwagon as a negative way there. Just that as the movement picked up steam we gathered more and more support and as this program keeps growing we will keep picking up new folks. Each person has a threshold where they say if X happens they are on board. For some that threshold is low (CFI folks, FSL folks) - for others its a new AD, new coach or just a bunch of winning. We have to make sure we are always welcoming to anyone that joins us as those wins add up. We all want this city behind us and that means a ton of new new supporters and if I hear anyone take shots at them Iāll take issue with that because I and you and most here know we are going to need them all to get to where we want to be and where we think our destiny shall take us.
I mean I actually dropped my basketball tickets after we left CUSA 1.0 and said I would come back when we got football. So in a way I am born again basketball band wagoner by way of football.

Weād be fools if we ever used CFI as a form of gatekeeping. CFI should instead be a lesson of the power we hold as fans when we work with determination for something we wantā¦ for example it was a common reminder during the #FJR movement of staying the course and focusing on the facts.
Bandwagon is a sports pejorative and some people are going to have a negative reaction to it so I can understand why you initially took umbrage to it, @NinerLove. Iād use āhop on the busā but that was an awful Hoops catch phrase and needs to die with the awful basketball that was played at that time. I guess hop on board? In any event, we need fans. Whether they are students, alumni or people who just love the city/university. We need more of all of that and we need those people to feel welcome at our events. Passion is good. Vulgar is bad. Keep calling out the vulgar and promoting the passion.
