This was something mentioned a while back.
Interesting piece from The Athletic about high school recruiting in which a number of high profile athletes were interviewed about NIL. Sort of contradicts a lot of the coaches’ complaints money being the most important thing.
I’m probably going to make this a tweet, but it certainly seems that NIL has had wildly opposite effects on SEC sports:

Football - exposed that their dominance was bought and paid for. Now that everyone else can do it, they’ve lost their edge.

Basketball - with nearly all of their programs now paying top dollar instead of just a few, the entire league is stacked.
Conclusion: SEC is now a basketball league.
I think people are throwing dirt on the SEC a little too soon.

Yep, lucky for him he’s in a hoops crazy state where the Utes and especially BYU are reaping the benefits of this new era in athletics.
