I cannot even create a reason G5 would support the renegotiaition. SMH
Tiered revenue distribution
That could be structured as such:
Top tier: Big Ten, SEC
Second tier: ACC, Big 12
Third tier: Mountain West, American
Fourth tier: Conference USA, MAC, Sun Belt
I still hate it, but it’s better than nothing.
The G5 may be shut out next year.
Remember that the PAC still exists as a conference. So if Washington State or Oregon State have an awesome year whichever one is the PAC champion could be ranked higher than any G5 champ and get the spot.
Is this an actual proposal that’s been reported??
It’s not a big deal. Cincy got in a couple of years ago. Gonna have to 12-0 to do it though
It’s from that Dennis Dodd article that Run linked.

When will the other 96 or so schools grow a pair and boot these dickheads the hell out of “college” football?
I am so over their crap.
Auto bids for anything but champs is garbage.
The other conferences should not go along with that.
They need to read their history.
Appeasement does not work.
Enjoyed this column from Jay Mariotti (yeah he still writes & I read still) on this whole bag of crap. (Free article)
clt says hold on, is that the WFT logo?
LOL was wondering the same thing
The entire purpose of that model is to push the G5 candidate even further down.
Interesting they are prepared to dilute the SEC championship game, played in the ATL… for many years it was the hottest ticket in the history of college sports. With 3 auto’s is anyone going to want to play in that game?
If ACC gets two, did they just go up from zero? SEC should then ask for four😁
At the very least it should be 2 AQ for G5 and then 2 at-large. I mean to think that the combination of 5 (or 6) different conferences deserve fewer AQs than any single P4 conference is insulting.
Personally, it should be 1 AQ for each of the 9 conferences and then 3 at-large. At least act like we’re all in the FBS together.
That will never happen: Greed is intoxicating and addictive.
