Didnât watch a second of the title or semifinal games. Itâs pointless. Ultimate goal is to have most college programs like Charlotte dissolve so the few donors there are divert their resources to the brands.

ESPN announced Wednesday that the Buckeyesâ second national championship in the CFP era averaged 22.1 million viewers. It was the most-watched, non-NFL sporting event over the past year, but a 12% drop from the 25 million who tuned in for Michiganâs 34-13 victory over Washington in 2024.
It was the third-lowest audience of the 11 CFP title games, with all three occurring in the past five years.
Love to see it. This is not college football anymore and people are not as engaged. It is literally semi-pro football branded as âcollege.â
College fans donât care about a brand if it doesnât come with tradition and relatable playersâŚsome of which you could watch grow within a system that become a legacy of the ONE school they attended for 4 yrs.
1 yr rent a players on school 4 in year 5 is not engaging to a âcollegeâ fan and is NOT what the âcollegeâ fan wants to see.
Not sure how long it will take for the suits to realize itâŚbut Iâll enjoy the nose dive as it happensâŚquickly or slowly.

CFP not going away. Will go to 14 teams in 2026 and eventually 16. Schedule will be revised with season likely starting a week earlier in August. Can see P4 conference title games being dumped as well. Unfortunately, I can also envision the P4 eliminating G6 participation - either directly or de facto.

Ohio State-Notre Dame Draws Concerning Ratings for ESPN in National Championship
The Ohio State-Notre Dame game averaged 22.1 million viewers on Monday night. While that was the most-watched game in the 2024 College Football Playoffs, it was also down significantly from last yearâs championship game between the Michigan Wolverines and Washington Huskies, which averaged 25.05 million viewers a year ago.
That would be a little concerning to me if I were Disney, the brands donât get much bigger than those two.
