ND, grow a pair and join a conference!
It will be interesting to see what they do if there is a “super league” (I prefer to call it a new D1) breakaway.
I expect Notre Dame to keep doing what they are doing until that happens.
Once there is a breakaway they will have not choice but to join it and pool their rights, end some of their traditional rivalry’s etc.
G6 should break away into a new division and refuse to play them.
That will hurt the budgets big time but it will remove the thorn from our sides if not getting a fair shake.
We have our own championships.
Tighten their belts, cut costs, and move on.
it will never happen because no school will want to admit they don’t have the opportunity to move up.
I think that ship has sailed.
If they didn’t take WASU, OSU and schools like Memphis, Boise, etc by now it’s not gonna happen.
Big Ten has at least one SEC “ally” in UF AD Scott Stricklin as concerns the size of any future CFP expansion beyond current 12:
On the frustration regarding the lack of CFP expansion: “The math for what we are trying to do does not work. … Of the 70 power conference schools, there’s 11 that get a chance right now to go play in the postseason. So just as a percentage, you’re talking about 13-15% for the most important sport we have. … I think we should do away with conference championship games. I think we should have a 24- or 32-team field. I know that sounds egregious to some people but at that point you would be accommodating about half about 50% of the teams at the power conference level.”

Dennis Dodd shilling for the B1G. Or is it Pete Thamel? Do I even really care?
The biggest problem with these proposals is playing games at bowl sites beginning in the quarterfinals. I do not believe that fanbases can afford the time or cost of travel to play essentially 3 bowl games back to back to back if their teams make it to the Natty. These games, as much as I hate the disadvantage it puts G6 teams at, need to be played on campuses. It’s enough that the semi finals and the Natty are at bowl sites.
