They’ll just make a new way to rig it.

Ideal situation would be Colorado + SDSU/UCONN to the Big XII and it stops, I fear though this means the 4 Corners may be gone,

Sounding like Arizona has one foot out the door.

There are likely 3 more spots in the Big12. Seems very likely they will go to PAC schools who bolt.

If the AAC is one of five surviving conferences, is that lack backdooring into major status? Especially in the new CFP structure?

I’m just seeing a landscape where we essentially have 1 less major conference and whatever is left on the west coast is basically the MWC, no matter what it’s called.

If the AAC is aggressive at the right time it can become more of a mirror of the Big 12, and leave the Belt, the MAC and the MWC as lesser regional leagues.

If the Mwc gets raided by the pac and the aac can snag boise and Air Force, we get better. If we lose smu, make a play for army and vcu to round out 16 for basketball and football.

We then own the military academies and a watered down but still solid boise state.

You have to think these conferences are inching towards 16 schools per conference. Big 10 should go ahead and add Oregon, wash, Stanford. Big 12 pick up the rest of the 4 corners. Maybe AAC can grab one of ore st, wash st, or Cal or all three? Add sdsu? One more and we’re at 20 and that’s a loaded conference. But at that point it’s just shuffling the deck. All I can say is at least we’re in the deck now!

I think we end up with 5x16 major conferences plus 3 or 4 regionals, even if that sounds self serving. Having the PAC essentially dissolve / merge with the MWC really positions the AAC to be that 5th 16 school league.

Plus the 6 autobids in the CFP are going to flatten the gap, especially past the B1G and the SEC. The AAC might not have ACC and Big 12 money, but they will have an equal seat at the autobid table, and that’s a big deal provided we exploit the opportunity.

clt asks your thoughts on smu leaving aac

The sunbelt fans are still convinced the aac is going to suck in the future and ecu and usf will want to join them.

I have been traveling all day and still busy. Just got a moment to check the board.

So is it official? CU definitely going to Big 12?

Apparently so good it’s worth repeating again and again!
