PAC didn’t offer them stability or exposure. I bet the other schools are puckering / packing up.

Have this sneaking suspicion that this might end with Memphis joining the Big 12.

Arizona would be well served to jump ship immediately before they lose a landing spot. Their basketball would fit in great with the Big12.

ACC continuing to look at possible expansion, commissioner says - ESPN

As Colorado becomes the latest domino to fall in college football realignment, ACC commissioner Jim Phillips said the league continues to actively consider adding teams but has not found enough value in any expansion option.

As one AD suggested, expansion could be valuable to the league simply as a means of preventing the Big 12 from growing further.

Hope they do and it stops there (for now).

I agree, the PAC had a chance to take Texas and OU, they do that they could have been on par with the SEC/Big X. They could have raided the Big XII but passed and let them get their TV done first. If the PAC does get obliterated the presidents have only to look in the mirror to see the reason.

ESPN’s CFP contract expires after the 2025-26 season.

What if the SEC and B1G refuse to sign up again for a 12 team playoff with 6 untied autobids? What if they just decide to form their own AFL vs NFL playoffs and College Super Bowl?

Would really suck to lose memphis. Would 100% rather lose smu to the pac12. Memphis would never get into the pac12.

If memphis goes big 12, the pac will absolutely add smu too, so the aac will take a big hit.

Not sure why anyone would want Cal or Stanford in their league. They are not comitted to on field success.

Yes it would suck big time.

Cross your fingers the Big12 takes all PAC schools. Apparently they have 4 slots they can take in any P5 school and get pro rata increases in their TV contract. That’s what Colorado will get a full share on year one and no negative impact to the rest of the conference.

It has to be a P5 though so that works against Memphis.

Reading the tea leaves from various sources.

My gut says Arizona announces to the Big12 by the August X deadline.

The other two slots are held open for the next year.

If the PAC contract comes in as bad as expected they will be able to take their pick of any PAC school that doesn’t get an invite to the Big10.

Lots of smoke all over the internet that Arizona is next to pop and it will be soon.

I still don’t understand how a league that is still half schools like Indiana, Illinois, Northwestern, Rutgers, Maryland, Purdue, and Iowa generates that kind of TV money. It’s like they are all paid like they are Michigan and Ohio State.

Seriously, how many people watch Rutgers or Purdue when they aren’t playing Michigan or Ohio State?

I guess one could say that since, in most cases, those schools are the major universities in their states plays a part. I mean, Indiana has three major schools, two of which fall into the B10. Iowa has two, one in the B12 and one in B10. Illinois has three, two of which are B10.

These schools are also massive in scale. I mean, Minnesota, Ohio State, and Michigan State are in the top schools for student population.

They may not all be great athletic powers, but they are huge schools with avid fanbases covering the entirety of the Midwest.

Yeah they should get relatively more than say us
But are they really on par with Ohio State & Michigan?

Could say the same thing about Vandy, Arkansas and Miss St.
