Who could the AAC add instead?

Aresco said the conference could stick with 13 football-playing members, but it is very open to adding one more. Adding three more to get to 16 schools is a possibility but a long shot. It’s all up to the league’s presidents.

“I think we’d definitely look at adding one,” Aresco said. “I don’t know if we need to go beyond that. We could also play with 13. We’ve had interest from schools and we’ll follow up.”

Army football is believed to be atop that list as a possibility, according to a separate source briefed on the discussions. The West Point school is located in the northeast and has an obvious longstanding rivalry with AAC football member Navy.

Army if they want in and stay at 13 for hoops unless you wanna pursue a school like VCU. Personally, 13 isn’t as unwieldy as it would seem in basketball. You play every team once, plus either 4 or 6 teams home and home as quasi divisional / regional rivals for a 16 or 18 game conference schedule.

I don’t see any other value adds out there. If there were any on the east side of the country, they would have come in with us.

Also ESPN is not gonna be crazy about the American bringing up one of its programs it has for cheap in the Sunbelt or CUSA.

Me too

I’d take Army

We’re Xfinity out here in Washington.

Spectrum is still the worst haha.

Being an Army vet, I would love to see us play Army in football

Spectrum has actually been REALLY good. I have had Spectrum (or its predecessors) since the 1990s. It literally almost never goes out and pricing has remained reasonable
and yes, I have had/have a few streaming services over the years. I’d still take Spectrum over any of them. This ESPN thing better get worked out soon, though.

you obviously are not married. Try getting your wife to change how she watches the bachelorette, Grey’s Anatomy etc
for that matter, change in any way. She knows how to use the Spectrum remote and DVR, and believe me she doesn’t care about saving money.

Me too. Me old.

I just signed up for a free 21 day trial on Youtube TV to get the ESPN games this weekend until this thing is over. Hasn’t impacted the espn+ feed as far as I can see. So still good for Sat 6pm.

The ESPN app keeps separate logins for your ESPN login and your ESPN+ login. I have YouTube TV for ESPN and a separate plus login under an email address.

I am married and luckily she doesn’t watch any of that reality BS. She’s a fan of Murder/Death/Kill shows, so I behave myself.

We went 100% off cable/dish about 6 years ago and haven’t missed a thing. Streaming is 95% of what we watch and the rest is Digital Antenna.

What about inviting UConn back for football only? I think that would be my third preference behind Army and staying put at 13.

I don’t think that would make it past the legacy members.

UConn’s value is basketball, if you don’t have that you just have a remora.

We had Warner/Spectrum up until we moved about five years ago. It constantly went out and had issues with contracts. Don’t really run into that with Xfinity out here. Glad to hear it’s improved!

I get it. But they’ve been in before, have a 40k stadium, and a better following than a lot of other potential adds.

They played a tight game against NCSU last night too. Think they’d be a decent add. A helluva lot better than Buffalo :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

They’ve got a lot of games scheduled already. Might be hard for them to cancel/reschedule for a conference schedule.

Something tells me that is not a picture of their average attendance.
