Clarification that VCU would be more than a hoops member:
Of course, contradicts Vannini post that AAC isnât currently looking to expand beyond Army.
But we only have 13 for everything but footballâŠ
Not doing a good job of keeping up with all the realignment numbers while also following the CLTFC vs RBNY match. Plus the Hornets vs Hawks.
I interpreted this to mean âfor footballâ when i first saw it.
SMU, who survived the NCAA death penalty by legally doing now what they earned them the death penalty then, joins UNC CHeat, who has done more to deserve a NCAA Death penalty, butâŠ

FWIW. I think itâs the right decision, but take it with a grain of salt, and letâs see what the state Supreme Court says on appeal.
I wonder why this wasnât removed to Federal Court?
You donât have diversity jurisdiction since Washington and Washington State are from the same state, and there isnât any federal question involved in interpreting the conference bylaws
Libey heard arguments from three parties: OSU/WSU, the Pac-12 and the University of Washington, which entered the case as an intervenor, working on behalf of the nine other departing schools (Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Colorado, Oregon, Stanford, UCLA, USC and Utah)
Oregon State was one of the partiesâŠ
Was only asking from a timeline perspective. Wondering how long it will take them to litigate this. Eventually it potentially impacts the AAC.
Listen to the College Football Enquirer podcast around the 44:15 mark. Ross Dellenger says that WSU & OSU are seeking to retain all the PAC 12 media money and NCAA credits from this year which is around $400 to $500 million. They would use that money to rebuild the PAC.
If that sticks they may have the money to do a âBest of the Restâ conference.
They will buy up the best of the MWC and Memphis, Tulane and some Texas schools to form a new league.
If theyâre smart they will also target Gonzaga and maybe Wichita State for basketball.
Thing is, I donât believe this issue will be settled quickly. Thatâs why I was asking jurisdiction questions. Thereâs too much money at stake.
Normmm says he told you that Aresco did not turn down TuPac and that this would happen 2 months ago.
Remains to be seen if they can put together a TV package that makes any movement worth it.
Lawyer for UW seems to think the court case that was just ruled on, and will likely be appealed, has no bearing on whether the members can vote to dissolve the conference. He says that the conference bylaws do not describe the process for dissolution so that would be handled by state law. And he says the applicable state law says all members vote, not the board. No clue how accurate that is. Iâd imagine he would argue that way for his clients even if he knew it wasnât going to necessarily be accurate.
