I think its going to speed up and slow down all at the same time. The actual movement is going to slow down as things settle for a bit, contracts are played out and court challenges made. While all that is happening the discussions will pick up speed so when the stage is set the movement will be fast,
I get the sense you might be the type to argue the sky isnât really blue. 
The continue winning description applies to everybody. If youâre not winning youâre most likely less significant.
Specifically for App, the continuing winning might not have made much of a difference for them as they were FCS. Iâll stick with the original comment that their biggest growth came from beating Mich.
That one win vs Michigan would not have moved the needle at all if they were and continued to be a 3 win team every year.

Thatâs a lot of info, as if you thought I said App sucks. But thatâs not what I said or implied. I said the biggest thing that grew Apps fanbase was beating Mich as a FCS program.

I said Apps fanbase is what it is because of what theyâve doneâŚper RunâŚsince 1984. The Michigan win was a part of thatâŚbut just a part. And certainly not the one singular reason the fanbase became what they are today.

Like I said to NWA, of course winning is important. But thatâs not unique to App. That applies to every school in the country. If you arenât winning youâre mostly likely not growing your fanbase. What is unique to App was they were the first FCS team to beat a ranked FBS team.

Prior to 2016, their highest home attendance growth was 2007, the year they beat Mich. All the while with all of the resume that âexudes excellenceâ, their attendance declined roughly 11% by 2015. It took them 9 seasons to eclipse that 2007 mark, even though they expanded their stadium by 4,000 seats and then again by 14,000 seats, between 2008-2022. By as recently as 2019, their ave attendance was again below the 2007 mark.
Those are respectable numbers, especially in FCS era

You seriously think beating Delaware is a bigger deal than beating Michigan in Ann Arbor? The ESPN coverage says otherwise.
Btw, North Dakota St has won like every FCS championship over the past decade. By using that logic their fanbase should be as big as Alabamaâs.
Just dawned upon me that the biggest win for both the Niners and the Mountaineers came against Michigan - albeit MBB for us and football for App.

I think youâre making waaaay too much out of app beating Michigan. Yes it was a great win and a nice story but Michigan wasnât a great team then. They were well on their way to getting their coach fired at that time.
They got blown out by an average at best Oregon team the very next game. Come on manâŚâŚ
