Not really anything new from what was said back in September except that it will be financially easier for schools to leave the ACC in 2030.
If that deal shuts the door to ACC expansion.
Memphis, Tulane & UConn (they need a full schedule) to the Pac football only & all other sports Big East??
Definitely allows Clemson and FSU to “save face” since no SEC invites were forthcoming, not to mention legal fees.
clt says this seems like good news for us, right?

So 2030 it is.
We had better be ready to put our best face forward by that time. Probably by 2029. We have a warning. Time to get our shit together. No excuses.

Does it matter? We aren’t going to be in the haves. Only question to me is who is left behind with us?
All comes down to who is going generate the most money for the networks and what that mix looks like and how many they want before it eats into each teams take.
Interesting movement here as L.A.-area private school is dropping from D2 to D3 while at the same time resurrecting its football program.
clt says they also just moved up to R1
TNT joining in could provide a path for either B12 or Acc to get the big big money. Needed a new media player to drive that. Wonder what their upper end is.
Would be awfully nice if they leave ESPN for that to free up some cash to distribute between the AAC, the mwc and the pac.
Sorta funny - as well as ironic - all the recent chatter that the ACC and Big East should merge given downturns by both in men’s hoops as far as NCAAT bids. While that’s not going to happen - 39 schools - could see a scheduling alliance coming out of it.
Also an interesting thought is not wanting to let tnt get a hold they up their offer enough to retain acc and b12 and pushing tnt to a Mwc/pac/aac deal?
Tv networks exert so much influence on this process.
