Can understand why ULM wants LA Tech to replace Texas State. Distance is 36 miles between the two northern Louisiana schools - almost 430 miles closer than San Marcos, TX. Definitely cuts down on travel expenses, time away from campus, etc.
I have been to both of these places. They make Greenville, NC seem appealing.

If our TV partners would do a pro rata increase for the addition of those four I would add them in a heartbeat. That would setup the conference to weather teams leaving and bring in good east coast programs into the fold for an eventual geographic reorg. If the G6 reorged geographically we would want to be with those four.
Yeah I would love those additions. I am a little confused about the Sunbelt looking down on La. Tech. They seem like a great fit for the Sunbelt. Are they really any worse than half of the schools already in that conference?

Sounds like the more northerly schools donāt want all that extra travel to Louisiana.
This seems to show that schools are getting more cost sensitive.
Regionalization is the way to go here.
And if that is the way it goes we are well placed being on NC.
A top 10 population state with 3 G6 programs ready to go and several more within 4-5 hours drive. I could see NC being the hub of a regionalized conference.
