Would be interesting to see how they like playing 6 home 6 away and not being able to pad their schedules with G6 and FCS.
OMG how I hate the hypocrisy and entitlement of some of these programs.
I think we can rule out UND to the Big XII:
clt says notre dame to big10, write that down
clt says academics matter, we need to be with R1 universities
Sounds a lot like the Elon + Queens merger.
I think we’re kind of saying the same thing? But these things fluctuate. And what makes a top 10, top 20, top 30 etc is very vague. What you have as “top 10” would have been different 20-30 years ago. 20-30 years ago Tenn, Miami, Nebraska, FSU, USC were probably “top 10” brands, but aren’t today. Today Oregon, Indiana, UGA, T A&M, Clemson might be top 10 but weren’t 20 years ago. If they’re going to narrow it down to 40ish teams, there is not a clear cut answer of what are top 40ish brands, hence why I said would NCSU be a top 20 brand in the SEC, Would Auburn still be a top 10 in the B12. Would UNC be top 10 in B10. Would MSU still be top 30 in the AAC. Would VT be top 20 in the SEC. Would Nebraska still be top 20 in MWC.

Honestly, this appears to be pretty much on target. I’d move CHeat up a line or two. This is what they want and where the money is driving things (to put it the way Albin framed it).
I hate it overall, but if this is what we ended up with, whatever it was called, I think it would be hard to argue anything other than that top line is minor league football and the rest are college football. Which would not be the worst outcome for us.
Way too few teams in the top tier.
They will take most if not all of the current P4 because the top teams need easier opponents and some schedule diversity.
They will also protect their friends. The leaders and boards of these schools know each other and will want to keep the club together
I think the left behinds will likely be schools that self select out for one reason or another. Likely they won’t have the institutional support to go all in on what it takes to be in the super league.
Then again they probably want some cannon fodder.
Wake, Northeastern, Stanford et all. That’s cannon fodder.
Seriously I think the only way they self select out is either they don’t want to be a part of it OR! And this is a big chance it think, they are not willing to not get an even share of revenue.
Is any big 10 or SEC team going to go for that?
I can’t see the boards of a lot of these schools agreeing to be permanent second class citizens financially.
Not the elites. They don’t need sports to drive enrollment. There is no enrollment cliff for elite universities.
Twenty too few. It will be in the 30 to 40 range and made up primarily of Big Ten and SEC schools.
clt assumes we will put greenland in zone 1

Why can’t we have nice things? This would be so much more fun than the geographical mess we have now.
It’s a nice dream.
If college sports had not been allowed to morph into the abomination that it currently is (I fully admit I’m part of the problem as I’m addicted to college sports like it’s heroin) then it might look something like that.
The irony is the ratings have never been higher.
Maybe one could hope the rating from this year of IU/Miami being higher than last year with ND/OSU causes the powers that be see a benefit of still including G6. But I doubt it.

Ratings are fake news. Disney probably owns Nielsen now on top of everything else.
But seriously sports betting is probably driving a lot of the ratings. A lot more people have a stake in the games now.
