Tulane? Really? Of all the teams the BE could have taken, it’s the one that couldn’t fill the stands if they played in a movie theater?

I hope CUSA boots ECU in all of its other sports. We got kicked out for not having football, and now they are effectively in the same boat as far as the conference is concerned. Send them packing for the CAA or something.

This fucking blows.

Tulane?
Tulane is in Louisiana. One of the biggest football recruiting hotbeds in the country.
Luckily, they were stupid enough to take Tulane (seriously, Tulane?) over La Tech.
Things arent over yet… When the ACC loses a bunch of teams thats when everything will really start to happen. Tulane + ECU football doesnt save that conference.
As I was saying in the shoutbox yesterday, Tulane has success across multiple sports. LaTech is having a good year in football.
If you wanna be one of the big boys, you have to do it in ALL sports, not just the big ones.
Per Brett McMurphy tweet, ECU to BE football only.
Does cusa have buyout clauses for this or penalties I guess? Like said before, seems as if it should be all sports or none. I’m assuming this may def rule out the old cusa. Any thoughts on possibilities of who may join cusa if any?
I would think that JMU and/or Delaware would have to be possible candidates.
Anyone school but App would be nice

Agreed. Anyone but App.
ECU leaving CUSA in football makes our move to CUSA much less attractive. Looks like our biggest rivalry now should be with ODU.
We have to start somewhere. I’m just glad theres a spot for us in the FBS. Plus I’d like to think that we would eventually move to a bigger conference.
Agreed to some extent. we aren’t going cusa in football till 2015, a lot will change in that amount of time with this and other conferences. This cusa move will give our other sports the boost in recruiting it needs for right now. And when the time comes and football is rolling strong will move again
ECU leaving isn’t ideal, in fact it sucks from a rivalry standpoint. But, we’ll move on. We’ll still be FBS in 2015. Heck, things may look completely different in 2 years.
I do think it’s funny the nBE didn’t want to touch ECU basketball with a 10 foot pole.
I heard the BE has a maximum number of D2 schools you can have on your schedule and that ECU surpassed it.
kidding. but really.
Yeah, it kind of stinks, but at the end of the day it is not the end of the world. We will be FBS in 2015 - something that we really did not expect to happen for a long time when we announced football back in 2015. We will build rivalries, with schools like Marshall, ODU, and UAB.
This is still far, far, better than FCS or even the SunBelt. And who knows, the dealing might not be over yet.
My bet is that CUSA will add Ga. State, and quite likely a school out west.
What a F------g mess.
I hate to say this now, but I think the schools without (bigtime) football that concentrate
on a strong basketball conference may come out ahead. I understand the top 50 football
schools making these decisions based on football, but the tail is wagging the dog with
everyone else and college athletics is getting ruined.

Ga State? No. God no. Please, no.
Look, I understand that C-USA is a football conference… but JFC, please not Ga State.
Charlotte to the PAC-12. Calling it now. We can end the east coast bias.
