Respectfully, your daughter needs to transfer. She is taking up the spot of someone who would actually care.
lol dude. Congrats on the stupidest thing I have ever heard on this forum and that takes a lot. She is there to get a degree. Believe it or NOT that is what the UNIVERSITY of Charlotte is for. Education and degrees. Not sports.
Objectively - she is correct - compared to the tradition of App football - Charlotte football does “suck”.
Not that it EVEN matters - but she did say that many of her co-grad school students (I think there are around 20) also where and support their former schools with their tshirts, etc. IF I had gone to say grad school at Carolina after I left Charlotte - I may have proudly worn my Charlotte shirt and jokingly told others than “Carolina sucks”.
Good grief. Can’t believe I actually even gave this a response.
Internet is stupid.
If she’s working with the football team or the athletic department she should not be wearing App State stuff on campus. Seriously, that’s ridiculous.
TRL, you are 100% correct. Appy is definitley a rival.
We care, and they care when we play each other.
Lot of App graduates in the area and most of us probably have
some friends/associates from there.
Obeg, I also have a daughter that graduated from App and I knew
you would get blasted for posting that.
Friendly rivalies are what make sports great.
By the way, we do suck in football and we need to beat App.
Truth Hurts.
I meant no disrespect and yeah my comment was a bit of an emotional knee jerk reaction. I know tons of kids wear other gear on campus. And it’s not malicious, in fact they usually don’t think anything of it. I think what got me is she’s not just some random student. She’s going to be working with our football team. I know we aren’t a blue blood program or an sec power with a religious following, but I feel like our staff (I know she’s not technically on staff) should have some pride and passion. Again no disrespect to her intended
Yes-----obviously, you love your daughter, but wearing that crap on campus is unacceptable (particularly for someone working within our AD).
If she is here just as a grad student no problem. If she is here working in the athletic department then completely different story. None of us like how the game must be played sometimes.
I mean honestly I can’t believe people are upset about this. If she’s intelligent and good at what she does that’s all that matters. When she shows up to work for the football team I’m sure she conducts herself professionally and puts 110% into her work. What do you people think, that she’s not going to care about the players under her care because she’s an App fan? If a UNC or state grad came to work at ECU in that capacity in a graduate role they can wear whatever the heck they want to as long as they are good at their job. If Charlotte only hired Charlotte grads for graduate positions who swear their unwavering allegiance and fandom to UNC Charlotte you’d be significantly diluting the pool of undergraduates you could place in those positions. We had fans on our board get pissed when a state grad who had been running the Wolfpack club came to ECU to head the pirate club. They argued the only person who should be in that position is an ECU alum who bleeds purple and gold. I said that was an absurd conclusion because the only thing that matters is his track record of building a donor base and increasing fundraising, and he was excellent at both of those things.
Would you go to work at Wells Fargo on a casual Friday with a BOA polo on?? Its just the game.
Correct. Its a bad look
Exactly TSD.
I don’t know, I just think the fuss about a 22 year old girl who is paying out of pocket to attend your university and wore an app state shirt to a summer football workout in 90 degree weather is a bit overblown. I’m sure when she’s on the sidelines during games she’ll be wearing official Charlotte gear.
Lets just all go in and convert her and save her some future regret!!!
And the crowd said AMEN!!

I love how after numerous post it changed from she just simple wore a beat up shirt to the gym after work to she wore it to a summer football workout. Who cares what someone wore in the gym, if I was in the gym I wouldn’t have cared one bit what anyone else was wearing and what school it was from.
I wish a girl’s t-shirt was our biggest problem.
My thoughts exactly, it should be a non issue altogether
Can we just end this ridiculous forum about App
I dunno. That’s been a problem for me on occasion, but not because of what school it represented.
- you need to go change your shirt
- we are going to let you go
