Your OPINION.
I’d love to be able to drop stuff and pick it back up but two kids one 8 and one 12 and then the wife - I have basically everything.
Apple
sling
Hulu
Netflix
Amazon
ESPN
Disney
Peacock
paramount plus
Stars
I’m sure I’m using some others
Ugh
Pretty much the same here. Though, no Stars or Paramount. We did Paramount trial over the holiday and binged a few things.
Soccer USMNT and premier ends up requiring a few
My elderly Mom lives in a rural area and has spectrum for one old skool landline. no internet,
and the cheapest package so she can see Hallmark and their new pricing for her is $121 per month. She has no ither options
In Ballantyne where I’m at the only internet service provider I have out here to choose from is spectrum. I hate how their service goes out periodically. Sometimes 2-3x per week for a few hours at a time. If anyone happens to know a provider out here I’m not thinking of let me know.
For tv I do DIRECTV stream and like that a lot.
clt asks where is the best sloppy joe in ballantyne?
How much does that set you back a month? Just curious.
Also having lived in South Charlotte multiple times in my life, it’s a nice area of town, but the s*** like that drives me crazy.
I’ve had for a while and what’s started cheap and increased and where I’ve done the ol threaten game… with the increase this year I’m at $120 OTD per month for cable.
Look into the mobile carriers home internet plans. I have T-Mobile business internet for my office. I get 200+mbps down. My upload is only 10-12mbps though typically. Ping is 30ms generally.
Might not be the greatest if you’re gamer, idk, but for $30/mo guaranteed for life, it’s the best deal going IMO.
My Verizon doesn’t offer it out here… not sure why.
My spectrum internet 2 year deal is $45/month so not too bad. But seems like they have a monopoly out here so what if they said $300/month???
If you are paying $120 for just the cale TV portion you need to call YTTV or Hulu or Fubo or SLING yesterday. I feel bad reading about a fellow Niner getting robbed like that in broad daylight.
If you’re worried about streaming, YTTV really is awesome. It’s just the price I bitch about. But even that is only $65. Features wise it puts every other service, streaming or traditional cable, to shame.
I’ll look again but I thought there was something that YTTV didn’t offer
clt says yttv doesn’t have mlb network, which SUCKS
MLB Network for guys is a sticking point. For women it was the freaking Hallmark channel, but they fixed that. Now there are like 5 Hallmark channels on there. It’s getting ridiculous.
BTW, this link says that AT&T fiber / EarthLink Fiber both serve Ballantyne West. I don’t know your address, but based on that alone, might be worth checking with them. It’ll cost a little more than $45/mo but it won’t crap out on you and it’ll run much faster.

I think this is kind of a hollow victory. Maybe I’m wrong but I feel like this type of live TV service will be done within 10 years. I already “pause” my subscription all summer long because we don’t use it.
clt says yttv REALLY needs to bring back mlb network
Seems like the ad business is doing fine. YTTV has adds, most of the other streamers have adds and they mention all the Free Add Supported Services are gaining ground
I feel somewhat for dish and directTV since they are not in the broadband business but spectrum and comcast are going to be fine. They have a very good business providing ISP services.
This is a lot of to do about nothing.
We have never had this much content available.
This is just bellyaching from companies that are making a little less but are still going to be profitable.
YTTV has never been profitable. The story says they are hoping to finally make a profit this year.
Those “moments of zen” they show are local commercials that they aren’t airing.
